I thought theyre not having IMATS in NYC this year, only in London, Miami and Pasadena. The Makeup Show NYC is in May tho.

I live in NJ near NYC. For next year is anyone allowed to go to the makeup show? Or do they have to have a licence to get into the show? Does it happen around the same time each year? How do I get tickets?

hii! i was also checking out crown brushes and the pink ones look a lot like coastal scents...i was wondering if you had any crown brushes cause they didnt have any enlarge pictures so im not sure if i want to purchase them. im really looking into MAC brushes just because i hear some awesome things in the application of eyeshadow etc.but if i can find the same quality at a cheaper price i would love it!

I picked up some brushes at crown, but the ones I picked, I didnt see at Coastal, so not quite sure If I have anything to compare. The Pinks do look the same. And crown have more badgers. Not sure about the price difference. I guess they look not that far off.

pretty much anyone who likes makeup can go to these shows. And you can google MAKEUP SHOWS to see some of the shows that comes around. IBS, TheMakeupShow, and IMATS are probably the popular ones. They have websites you can favorite and check every now and then. These shows are held annually.

from what I heard from people, anyone can buy tickets who are Makeup lovers. I know some people here who bought tickets who are non-pros. And the Show even have Children ticket prices.

Hi Koren, I went to the show in Toronto last fall and it was such a great experience! I agree with your comment - it was like being a kid in a candy store! Thanks for posting this as I think these shows are definitely worthwhile, especially for anyone just starting in the business.

the empty palette at the end is really cool for keeping together shadows of all different brands, but I went to the website to order it and a few eyeshadows and the shipping is really high (~$12)!... because its being shipped from canada :-(

Oops, i just forgot to say that crownbrush have an indredible lot of brush...and they are so INEXPENSIVE!! Some are like...1,50...

i will spent all my money on this web site....doh....

Oh! Really, i've take a look for the brush ,(crownbrush!) And they have all the brush we can find at costalscents !!!! So if somme people seraching for discontinued brush at costal scents, they can easily find them at crownbrush!

hey belz - i guess thats what they put on the site, but once there theyre really not strict. They dont even check for anything, as long as you paid your entry fee. I think they put that for crowd control, otherwise, that place will be super packed.

I have a question for you- what kind of mirror lighting do you recommend for makeup application?

Hi VP - i really recommend Vanity Lighting. Its the one commonly used backstage for most makeup work, and very popular at backstage dressing rooms for theater productions. (The ones you commonly see installed around and surrounding vanity mirrors. You can get panels of those at Home Depot as well.
