  • Is liking this movie the logical thing to do? No. But it is the human thing to do.

  • Is this better than the new one that came out in 2009?

  • @thebayareapimp The new one that came out in 2009 does not exist. It was just a holodeck simulation.

  • Best Star Trek movie by FAR.....

  • @DonCorleone87 - Best ecologically awared ST movie.

  • I didn't understand any of Bones' medical talk, but I'm pretty sure that he just burned that doctor.

  • Never thought anyone would call Spock ditzy.

  • Spock: Forgive me, Doctor. I am receiving a number of distress calls. McCoy: I don't doubt it.... XD

  • Lds lol

  • Thanks for this. I'm so watching this tonight now.

  • Shame the clip did not explain what the probe was doing. If you did not know the plot there was a bit of a non-sequitur at this point.

  • The only thing missing is the dedication to the Challenger crew.

  • Computer? Computer?! Hallo Computer!!

  • Gotta love the 'cell phone call' @4:45 that in 1984 was yet to be normal for another 10 years. Awesome!

  • I'm not a marine biologist, but I don't think you can re-populate a whale species with a single breeding pair.

  • @tml4873

Technically, you can repopulate a species just with a female who is pregnant with one male offspring. Inbreeding works perfectly well, so long as there are not significant genetic defects that cause issues in such offspring.

  • @imtheonlysane1here yes, but generation after generation genetic the chance of genetic defects is greatly increased...imagine making a xerox out of a xerox out of a xerox...10-20 times...the image gets poorly each time it's copied.

  • @desmon That relies upon errors in the copies, as in children being born with genetic defects their parents didn't have. The odds of this occurring within inbred offspring is no greater than in normal offspring. Additionally, once the population is repopulated, then the natural system or reproduction would resume. Your comment would be more applicable to cloning a clone who was cloned from a clone, or a system that only allowed incestuous reproduction.

  • @imtheonlysane1here Really, tell that to the Kardashian sisters:)

  • 7:35 - YAY THAT CRAZY GUY WHO HIJACKED A STARSHIP IN THE LAST MOVIE IS NO LONGER IN CHARGE OF OUR FLEET!

  • I hate to say it but... well...I must.

The movie is better than your vid. LOL

    i.e. amazing vid.

  • Eddie Murphy wanted to have a role in Star Trek IV, but I don't think he would've been very convincing as a Cetacean expert. Besides, putting him in there might've been like putting Richard Pryor in " Superman III " as a computer expert - Rather Unconvincing. I'm not hating on Richard Pryor or Eddie Murphy. Just Sayin'.

  • What a bunch of pimps.

  • Here's some trivia: The scene in which the Klingon ship landed in the water was actually shot in a huge water tank that was buried under the Paramount lot, and the whales themselves were made by ILM.

  • lol... LDS

  • Totally cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I always wondered what happens when the two whales and their offspring die? I mean there would be no others to mate with....is the "Probe" coming back?

  • @rah01kah If the whales had only sons, they would mate with their mother, vice versa, et cetera.

  • Best Star Trek movie ever!

  • Do You like Italian?

  • He did too much LDS, too much latter day saints.........."""

  • @rah01kah Damned Mormons! Beneath that clean-cut, All-American image, they are dropping LDS! This has got to stop!

  • @starguy2718 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, no wonder spock was wearing the temple garb

  • Lucy's pregnant

  • the original star trek gold key comics are awesome

  • Admiral...there be whales here!

    I love Scotty.

  • All there is to say: Facepalm.

  • I always thought that it was ironic that Starfleet's " punishment " for Kirk was to demote him, put him in charge of a new starship, & for that starship to become essentially a flying malfunction that still needed work ( As was alluded to in ST: V by Scotty ).

  • 6:06. Probably one of my favorite scenes in all of Star Trek history!

  • Think those whalers pooped themselves when the BoP uncloaked? Lol

  • "Hello computar"

    Fav part.

  • Spock hates crappy music.

  • Brilliant but you left a few things out that really needed to be in lol

  • Too bad you couldn't include Kirk's response

"Don't tell me...you're from Outer Space."

"Actually I'm from Iowa, I just work in Outer Space".

  • Haaaaa! LOL !!

  • No nuclear wessels D:

  • this is the beststar trek movie ever

  • "LDS?" Haha

  • Mormonism.

  • Yeah, but Kirk was talking about drugs, not religion. It's supposed to be LSD

  • a fantastic movie. thanx.

    ATVmidlands UK

  • haha... spock's headband... forgot it was to hide his ears

  • cute! nicely done. one of my fav movies ever.

  • too much lds in the sixties .. I love that line!!!!

  • "Hello, Computer" LOL! Gotta love Scotty

  • i love this movie, but i recenty watched this in HD quality on a large screen, and i noticed something that really annoyed me, it's really a very nit picky thing but it drove me up the wall. At the very end, when Kirk is demoted, the crowd come down to congratulate him and amoung the crowd and some Vulcan's that are slapping Kirk and Spock on the back and shaking their hands vigorously with wide exuberant excited smiles. wtf?

  • vulcans have the same emotions as us maybe even stronger, but they coose to supress them. but it was probely an error.

  • i know, thats why i like the Vulcans. I also know it was an error, it was such a bad error though, like who was directing that? cos then they have Spock saying at the end 'i feel fine' to his dad, as if it was the weirdest thing in the world, and two secs before there were 2 or so Vulcans expressing exuberant joy. nit picky i know. Still i love this movie

  • Awesome thank you, I have been trying to get the Dvd so this holds me over for a bit lol

  • i know it was done for comedy and i though it was great but don't you think scotty who is supposed to be one of the greatest t engenear should have known ho to work an antique computer.

  • he did know how to use it, he just took it for granted at first that it was more sophisticated technology than it was. he seemed to work it amazingly well after he stopped talking. in the full movie

  • Agggh, I want that ship! Klingon bop's are the shizzle.

  • Yep, that's pretty much it!

  • My favorite Star Trek movie in 8:58. A fantastic job!! Richard

  • suweeet

  • This is brilliant.

  • hat was essentioly it great job
