I love your idea about night time and rainy and stormy it really adds to the atmosphere of the game which is a key point for me to enjoy games. As for light sources, you could add burning torches at bridges or houses. Also maybe lightning flashes if possible.
@mankenos Thanks, glad you like the atmosphere idea. Lightning could be pretty awesome, I think ill add in the torches seeing as that would be pretty easy to do :).
