  • She really needs to prepare a speech !

  • Why did she get such a shitty seat?

  • what on earth is she wearing!

  • who`s Olivier?

  • @sleepawayfanable Olivier Dahan, the director of La Vie en Rose.

  • @sleepawayfanable Olivier Dahan is the director of "La vie en rose"

  • @ifyouwantbochin The majority of that audience were a mish mash of different nationalities. Secondly, all the English people who won that night was just as excited as Cotillard. Keep your ignorant racist stereotypes to yourself. Prat.

  • @Supernovarolla You Have Reason Daniel Day-Lewis At 2:37 Is A Actors British and Irish Citizenship........Sorry For My English (i Speak French )

  • whats up with that dress?

  • @bolodearroz Tell me about it. She looks like some sort of ancient Greek super hero.

  • She's so cute with her eyes wide open when they announce her name.

  • I DON'T KNOW U. BUT I LOVE HER DRESS

  • omggg shes shaking! I just wanna give her a hug! <3

  • Cate was awsome too! they were both great, in my opinion they both deserved it, and with all due respect keira was good too, but if u've seen La vie en rose or Elizabeth you'll understand why she didn't won

  • so humble, so beautiful =]

  • This made me cry. Whoaa, she so deserves it!!

  • Knightley was excellent in Atonement, but her screen time was awfully short compared to her competitors. I felt her nomination was more a "sorry about ignoring you for Pride & Prejudice 2 years ago" than about her performance. Still a good perf, though it felt like it should've been supporting (the film was about Briony after all...)

  • why do they put the clip of ellen page ? cause people will be reacting, why was she nominated ? They should put clips that show her emotional performance!

  • its so weird how cate blanchett got a nomination in the oscars on the second movie of elizabeth, even though on rotten tomatoes (a critics site) gave it 32%, maybe it was her performance that got her there, its kinda the same thing with Nine, cause it got 37%, I dinno

  • She was an excited and emotional french in the middle of that cold english crowd

  • Most deserved Bafta!

  • I like how Ellen Page loses to Marion, and then they star together two years later in a blockbuster hit. It's just crazy...

  • tough year for competition so many AMAZING performances

  • julie christie should've won :(

  • she was excellent... amazing.... outstanding.... brilliant and awesome

  • You're waiting for a train, a train that will take you far away. You know where you hope this train will take you, but you don't know for sure. But it doesn't matter. How can it not matter to you where that train will take you?

  • BAFTA goes first before the Oscars right?

  • I really like her,I enjoyed the song by Snow atrol(love this band) and as I have just watched "Last Night" with Guillaume Canet, now I love her husband as well. Finally discovered a Frend good looking guy.A real found. hahaha

  • @Tyanes17 I recommend googling "Gaspard Ulliel." Hottest French man my eyes have ever laid on, imo.

  • @R0CK0Nbaby OMG! I googled Gaspard Ulliel ant it turned out that you were absolutely right!! He's really hot. Such an unique face. Thanks, girl! Now it's two French good looking guys.Keep them coming hahaha.Charming language, charming men.But I still prefer Guillaume. It's a matter of taste.

  • @Tyanes17 Gilles Lellouche, Sagamore Stévenin, Raphaël Personnaz, Nicolas Cazalé, Marc Ruchmann, Philippe Bas, Jean Dujardin, François Vincentelli, Gianni Giardinelli, Louis Garrel, and many others but that's enough drooling for a while...

  • @AuxaneD Louis Garrel for sure!! Ever since I watched The Dreamers and La belle personne,I'm completely obsessed with him.

  • She's is such shock... I think she's absolutely fabulous, even when she's lost for words!

  • She's the best !!

  • Her reaction seems so genuine! I love her!!

  • i don't like her dress ;)

  • This performance was so spot on and awe-inspiring. All award season critics kept saying Julie Christie, Julie Christie, Julie Christie. But I knew people would come to their senses, realize, and award what was truly the best performance.

  • Holy**** She's brilliant.

  • @Inglese001

    A ton avis???

  • @Freez57fr Parce qu'ils sont des snobs ! Moi, je préfère Taxi 2.

  • Funky dress! who is she wearing?? Mc Queen?

  • @shapolfab Chanel Couture.

  • la France aime Marion :)

  • lovely actress. she is captivating un inception

  • Marion, FRANCE loves you...

  • trop chou Marion :)

  • stop hatin stupid americans you don't know anything about fashion

    I JUST LOOVE HER DRESS<33

  • Oh my God ! What is that dress ? Where is the French elegance ?!!!

  • Marion deserved this and the Oscar :)

  • @reservoirdog666 is a great actress

  • @reservoirdog666 What's wrong with Keira Knightly getting the nomination? She's a good actress.

  • thumbs up if you think she's lovely

  • It is truly american to reward " great performances" as Charlize Theron in Monster or others before. As an actress in more classic films, she's quite more classic to unappealing. But she's shaped to pushed to the limit of an interpretation and that's a wicked idea to make her play strong characters. Her looks and physical appearance makes the rest...according to what the perfect french woman might remain to the american eye.

    What became of Deb Winger?

  • i LOVE LOVE LOVE her reaction. thats truly a genuine reaction

  • lol people who didn't know her probably saw the oscar clip, then saw her on stage and were like, WTF!

  • There is no doubt in my mind that she deserves this award, the Oscar also. I love her dress choice here as well, oh and her Oscar dress of course - one of my favourite Oscar gowns so far! She's beautiful.

  • Marion is the epitome of beautiful & cute. Such a breath of lfie!

  • Fantastic Piaf performance!I saw the movie yesterday...Marion was very very wonderful as Edith!Totally deserved it.And the Oscar too! What a speech..:)She so sweet!:)

  • Marion cottilard, la meilleur actrice française actuellement.

  • I think she represents perfectly France !

  • i love the fact that everyone was genuinely happy for her in the audience, same as at the oscars!

  • i just saw the movie yesterday and loved it! the way she transformed herself was amazing! i have never seen such a powerful performance!

  • Shes beautiful!

  • so many great films in this nomination. She deserved it though <3

  • I love Cate, Kiera, & Marion, but Marion deserved this award hands down. I'd never heard of her before this movie and after I saw it, WOW.

  • what is she wearing? HAHAHAHA

  • it's great that the movie industry still has some very talented actresses and actors. Marion Cotillard is a great example. one of the best actresses of her generation, in my opinion.

  • She's so cute!

  • She definitely deserves this and the other awards she got, she is an amazing actress in that film. But you know, I would have at least thought she would say something about Edith Piaf in her speeches, but I've been watching her acceptance speeches on Youtube today and she doesn't mention her once, which is a bit disappointing. The film was a tribute to Edith Piaf, whose voice « est comme l'âme de Paris » but I suppose....

  • @customkiwi , here she's too emotional, speechless and shaking but when she received the French awards( les césars), she talked about Piaf and her best friend (but in french..)

  • i love Marion but what the fuck was she wearing?

  • @jimeca I don't know, but she still somehow manages to look gorgeous despite the frock.

  • I'm really happy she won, she's so amazing at first i wasn't happy at all but after seeing the movie and Jeux d'enfants i'm one of her fans. sorry but what is the music in the backgroung? I know it but i can't put a finger... please tell me and sorry for my english. thanks.

  • hey is the guy sitting next to Marion that Juilan guy in Jeux d'enfants? he looks like him, omg i love that movie, and i love her!!!

  • @whatthefunnyword

It's guillaume canet, yes, he plays in jeux d'enfants, and it's marion's boyfriend :)

  • @whatthefunnyword yeah it is they're going out!

  • I love Marion! I felt kinda bad though because it was so hard for her to find the right words and she seemed like she didn't really know what else to say. I love her accent. Such a wonderful actress!

  • When emotions are so high it's really difficult to express yourself not in your mother language..

(Parlant de regarder les Anglais "A Good Year")

  • Cotillard is an actress who (as a unique and gifted woman) pulls on the heart strings with her emotions, as well as having the gift of being a mesmerizing and divine image. For those who think Knightly or Paige or Christe should've won, please watch "La Vie En Rose" if you cannot cry or feel the sorrow and joy through her magnificent voice (Piaf's) and acting (Cotillard) of Edith Piaf's life then something is clearly wrong with you all.

  • For those of you who are talking crap about her English: SHUT UP! Very few Americans speak a second language as well as she does, so try speaking another language fluently without mistakes... impossible? well then giver her a break. A friend of mine speaks 5 languages and she has an accent but she learned and became fluent in English as a 5th language in 3 years. (Speaking of English watch "A Good Year")

  • @dangmills you're right! I mean is great to speak english but it's not her first language and she was obviously very nervous!

  • @dDna0 true, English is a wonderful language but French, Italian and so many others are so elegant... seriously, I heard a song in English and it was BLAND then I heard the original Italian and I loved it... there's something in the other languages that English pales to when compared. That's the beauty of multilingual world. I get so bored with hearing/ reading and speaking English only all the time...

  • @dangmills what's your mother language? english?

  • @dDna0 English, and a very rusty limited French and pieces of Arabic and Spanish

  • @dangmills the french translator is not working very well !

  • @closer84e obviously, it never worked well in the first place... I was just doing it to be annoying to those who don't know French/ think it's stupid language ;) I used to know some French, until I moved here and then no one spoke it correctly therefore (just like music, if you don't practice) I kind of lost it though I might be able to pick it up again if I found the right ppl parlez vous francais beaucoup?

  • @closer84e Marion has become one of my favorite actresses, and honestly one reason why I love her so much is because of her limited publicity... I get sick and tired of seeing Angelina Jolie (unconvincing actress) and Lindsey Lohan (needs to be sent back to school) and I just love how humble and sweet she is in public and isn't acting like a drag queen "look at me! I am showing my breasts!!! look at me I was in a lesbian movie!!!" it really gets old fast

  • Not quite sure what was going with that frock tho!!!

  • wow all of the other nominees' faces when she won looked kind of bitter :/

  • The best and most stunning performance and re-enactment of Edith Piaf, or any historical figure for that matter, EVER. She was fantastic. All seriousness aside, What the hell is she wearing? LOL!

  • Breathe Marion breathe........now talk. Lol. So cute

  • she really looks like her

  • Best performance of the decade, period period period!

  • holy crap-that was an incredible year for female performances. glad marion cotillard won but i really loved keira knightley in atonement and beyond adored ellen page for juno-what a close category!

  • I was voting for Cate Blanchett until I saw Cotillard's performance in La Vie en Rose...she was exceptional and completely deserved the Oscar and the BAFTA!!!

  • She's just a projection of the human subconscious!

  • i would have given her a standing ovation here and at the oscars.

  • I've loved her since 'Love me if you dare' too... My fav movie.

  • This movie is sensational. Her acting blew my damn mind, she won this award by a landslide in my book. :)

  • This actrice is not afraid to take risks for her career. People should watch her first french films! When she played a prostitue in 'A Very Long Engagement' (she won the cesar award for best supporting role) .. Her performance in french film 'Pretty Things' was awesome too. She did an american film with Russell Crowe in 2005, three years before she won the oscar. It's like if it was her destiny to succeed, and to become an actress. I love her! Not only the actress, but the women too!

  • @shniber14

    actress not cockatrice

  • I've loved her ever since love me if u dare :)

  • i can't believe ellen page was nominated for juno. especially for an oscar as well, wth.

  • @omgaw lol ya:P thats what i said:P

  • i only watched la vie en rose once and i will never forget the scene where edith piaf found that her lover is dead, i had goosebumps for like 10 minutes and my boyfriend and i were like wtf who is she?she's good...

  • she is gonna win another oscar, that's for sure.

  • and she's french ! everyone in France was crazy when she won the Oscar and all these awards. On t'aime Marion , tu mérites vraiment d'avoir gagner tous ses prix , ta prestation était remarquable !

  • She deserves all the awards in the world !

I love Kate Blanchett too, she's a good actress and they're both funny and sweet in real life !

  • Besoin d' un docteur ? Docteur [ H ] OUSE was in that house ! OUAIS ! HUGH LAURIE était assis derrière MARION ! HUGH and his spouse JO GREEN were sitting right behing Marion COTTILARD and Gullaume CANET !!! YAY ! YAY ! YAY ! WE LOVE... HUGH ! OUAIS ! I LOVE HUGH to tears ! OH OUI !

  • Marion COTILLARD did win that year ! Bravo !

HUGH LAURIE attended that ceremony with his spouse JO GREEN ; they were sitting right back Marion and Guillaume CANET ! Hugh rocks too : YAY ! YAY ! YAY ! We love... HUGH ! YAY !

    C' est super ! Besoin d' un docteur ? Dr. HOUSE was in the [ H ]ouse ! OUAIS ! OUAIS ! OUAIS !

  • so sweet ^^^^

  • Marion, tu es un actrice incroyable! :D

    J'espère le film aussi! :D

  • She's perfect. I love her

  • she's so beautiful :B

  • Poor Cate Blanchett missing out on the award again... but she was up against a real powerful performance and Marion deserved it.

  • She is so beautiful. she deserved all the awards. Such a talent.

  • She's so sweet...

  • She totally deserved all the awards she got, her performance was outstanding. I agree she could have mentioned Piaf herself in one of her speeches, but she was probably way too shocked and nervous to think straight.

  • Juno is a great movie. It would have been my number 2, on this list

  • I don't think anyone can say she didn't deserve this after seeing La Vie en Rose. When she won the Oscar, I was like WTF? Who is she? But then I saw La Vie en Rose ... and she blew me away. Amazing. A super super talented actress, no doubt.

  • @ItBrandonSilver OMG... Did you see the movie??

  • @ItBrandonSilver I hope you're kidding

  • @ItBrandonSilver Relax! If you don't like it, you don't, there's nothing I can do about it...

  • no offense, but i couldnt disagree more

  • What the fuck you talking about, idiot?

  • you caaaan't fool me!

  • Well, you're wrong fucker. This is my only account, and the only account I've ever had.

From your profile, it looks like you are a fag, so I won't hold it against you.

  • I just said that Marion wasn't really bad, she was actually quite good, it's my opinion and, did I say anything wrong? or did I just spilled one little truth?

  • No, you accuse me of being someone, and I reacted. What are you 15? Can't take someone being brutal with you? Move on with your life.

  • If you don't want people to find out that you two are the same person, you might want to expand your vocabulary and it's impossible for numerous accounts by different people to have an identical taste, identical argument and using the same overused terms again and again.

  • WOW! by immidiately blocking me like your other accounts did, you had proved my accusation once again!

  • @dDna0 do you speak french ? or did you watch the movie in subtitles ?

  • @closer84e I speak french a little but I saw the movie with subtitles in spanish, which is my first language... why?

  • @dDna0 the same thing happened to me lol

  • AMAZING ACTRESSES !!!!!!!!!!!! She really deserved for it!

  • cotillard love her france best <3 je suis trop contente!

  • who is that at 2:02?

  • Harvey Keitel, I guess...

  • @starmochieater09 looks like Jane Seymour, but I don't think it's her

  • Keira was nominated for obvious reasons. Have you not seen Atonement.

And Marion was just shocked, I hardly understand why people are calling her 'moronic'. She's lovely and deserved it.

  • Comment removed

  • I love that she has passion! lol

  • She is modest, maybe a bit shy, being an actor is a hard job! Especially if ur good.

  • don't know about oprah, but its understandable here. julie christie swept all the precursor awards, MC was understandably shocked.

  • She is very well spoken in her native language. Somehow I doubt you are bilingual.

  • @whitneyfan72 I would love to see you give a speech in a language that is not yours in front of millions of people... She is sincere and truly moved by the moment. I think she did great. And for your info, the " foreign one-hit wonder" has quite a few movies coming out this year, including one with Leo Di Capio, Ellen Page ad Michael Cain...

  • She is a moron because she's not fluent in english??? I really doubt you know any other language and i'm betting you are "american", has it ever cross your mind that no everyone wants to make it in hollywood, dont be such a fool about it, this actress has done a lot of movies and not needing english to be a breakthrough and what i suppose you would call a good actress, you are been egocentric and irrational
