  • I remember back In the uk. Saturday night it would be on tv. Changed all cop shows after that. Uzi machine guns, fast cars, girls, everyone wanted to go to miami not Spain for their holidays.

And yes I did try to dress like don Johnson, sondid all my mates. Must of looked like a right bunch of knobs.

  • REmember the two other vice cops that were like Belker from hill street blues vesions of

Crocktt and tubbs? What was up with those guys? They didn't dress as sharp?

That style will come back one day though I bet it'

s comfortable and versatile and flashy..

  • 0:45 thats a nice footage with the speedboat

  • Icon of tv'dom, influencing international style and fashion, car design, attitude and even most people, yesterday and today. jan hammer rocked!

TV became a song track then' n there. Music is universal anyway, brings us together. Love this show. cheers.

  • The game is called Jai Alai.

  • What is that game you call @ :17?

  • @PTH4Fun Don't quote me but I believe it's called Jai Alai (pronounced High Uh-Lie) I know the ball can go up to speeds of over 130 mph!

  • @hardtechnoboy, I've been to the Jai-Alai center recently (live about 30 miles south of there). It's still an exciting game to watch, but nowhere near as popular as it was in the 70s & 80s. Who knows if it will return to it's former glory...

  • when i 1st seen those woman tits boncing like that when i was a kid i said i want to go to floridia

  • One of the best tv-series in the 80's =)

  • In the days when titles and music had real creative "who gives a sh*t, lets load it up" attitude and punch.

Ranks as one of the best title sequences in TV's history.

  • best city ever

  • best intro to a television series ever. period.

  • best intro to a television series ever. period.

  • best intro to a television series ever. period.

  • If this was brought out today it would still be cool everything about this show was class.

  • this is the "older opening" in the original they had a black Ferrari...

  • @brohmanski

Actually that Ferrari really wasn't a Ferrari.. It was a kit-car based from a C3 corvette and has a V12 from a 1980 Ferrari 400i.. It's in the Ford Motor Museum..

  • the last note of this theme always eemed to sound like a prison door slamming shut

  • The best tv theme ever !

  • at 0:17 what kind of sport is that?

  • @NothingEverything1 Jai la lai (pronounced High-Lie)

  • @NothingEverything1 - That's called Jai alai, which seems to be still popular in Florida and other places.

  • jai lai

  • Jai Alai

  • jai alai

  • I love how the drums are in synch with the Hispanic girl's bouncing tits :-) That was a brilliant move on part of the music/scene editor.

  • Great show! Who else could rock a suit jacket and jeans like Don Johnson? Was anyone else freaked out by the very end of the theme song? It used to scare the hell outta me! Sounded so frightening!

  • just 1 minute most amazing minute in music history

  • off course this is not the real miami ,miami beach now is full of homeless people and getho low class black people that come from new york and atlanta the dream is over be extra carefull if u come to south beach

  • I'm starting law school @St. Thomas in August -- how's Miami Gardens?

  • 15 years ago miami beach was diferent it was really nice because no many people khew south beach it was like living in a little town with the previliges of a big city now that is famous worlwide everybody not just want to come here to visit but to stay so now we have an invasion of bad apples and a lot of getho type of people plus homeles people find miami their heaven now is like any other city full of crime just normal but is not the paradise that everybody think it is

  • One of the best intro ever

  • @prometeusz1000 Jeden z najlepszych seriali amerykańskich. Do tej pory nic z takim klimatem nie powstało.

  • Miami Vice owns Dallas!

  • I wonder if thats how Rockstar got the idea to make gta vice city

  • LMAO at 0:15 - Just a pair of tits moving across the screen. Face not necessary.

  • The best thing is that they're real, not the fake crap.

  • Anything more would be insincere.

  • @MrSyrett They're enough.

  • @MrSyrett the standard US image ^^

  • back to the 80ies!

  • I thought it was the coolest show on tv ever, from the places where it was shot, to the soundtrack, everything, it is just soooo cool. You can't not love a detective living on a yacht with a pet crocodile that drives a ferrari testarossa, white one I might add, and at the end of the show, he and his partner drive a huge speedbot, jumping on the waves. Can anyone name a cooler tv show than this, cuz I sure can't. Cheers

  • The crocodile drove a ferrari? :D

  • LOL, my bad, the crocodile just sits on the yacht eating evidence, cocaine and heroine

  • A crocodile that drives a ferrari? :-)

  • no, the Ferrari's name was "crocodile". i google searched it. :0)...

  • This was a great tv show! The 80's was the shit !

  • Love of God, I still remember it all! I found RCA patch cords in 1984, connected the TV to the Marantz 2216-B tuner and SounDesign floor speakers, this came on and I cranked the sonofabitch. A monster was born! Every Friday, we CRANKED IT! The whole neighbourhood knew when Miami Vice was on! The entire house shook worse than on Poltergeist! Damn good times, never to be seen again! I'll die extremely happy.

  • 25 years later and I still love this song!!

  • this theme makes m want to play vice city now which i will!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yeeeeeeeeeees!

  • all time great

  • class

  • has to be one of the best theme tunes ever!!..series was pretty good to.

  • Just the sameopening is at GTA Vice City

  • naja.....

    ähnlich

  • yepp vice city is based on this show !

  • god have mercy, just look at the testarosa bouncing at the curve; marvelous.

  • Jan Hammer is da man!

  • Television in the 80's, even daytime tv, was so much better than tv today. Almost all shows now are ridiculous reality shows. The writers and producers of todays tv lack any creativity or originality. I doubt 10, 20 years from now people will be looking back fondly at these talentless, stupid shows that are on now.

  • i'm totally agree....

  • No but they will look back to video games some cinema vintage internet stuff. Face it, tee vees golden era is over. Now they have to compete with the net and games, which means a fraction of the market of the 80s.

  • True. Although, I still can't help but look back fondly at a lot of older tv shows. At least there's reruns.

  • Just because they have to compete with games means it's OK to do crappy shows? Should make them better tbh. 80-90s tv ftw!

  • Absofuckin'lutely right-on. We may never see great days like that again. We were poor, but MAN, we we rich! Today's writers and producers indeed lack creativity, originality...and credibility. This show made the Reagan Administration era livable.

  • Amazing show and amazing opening!!!

  • I've always loved this theme song too but, how strange! They didn't cover up the thong-wearers' booty during the shows original run twenty years ago, so block it out now???

  • I have the original theme on a VHS from 1986 I should upload it.

  • MIAMI VICE tv show are available on DVD's ("Miami vice season 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5")

  • best intro ever and best show ever and best actors and and miami vice 4 life
