@grmohrbacher Ok then episodes cause the first like 5 were great then idk it just didnt catch me..I remember there was a scene where the dude was fucking someone and I was like, ok ive just lost my interest
@agentm31 No offence, I love Band of Brothers and The Pacific, but why does it have to be about the Americans in WORLD WAR II? Why can't it focus on the Russians or the Germans? Again, I mean no offence but it seems every WWII film or indeed any war film is always American..
@berserker276 Because, its been done by Americans, and they love being American, and show it through such films I think. I just recently saw Warhorse, about the British Cavalry, thought it was great too. And i know for a fact, Russia makes a ton of pro Russian movies, and Germany, not so much ,due to the whole holocaust thing. but in some ways still do, or at least remember it.

@berserker276 I take no offense to that, and I completely agree. It just seems like these specials are dealing with Americans exclusively. However, I've heard that the Germans have been making very realistic WWII movies from their point of view, both during the war and afterwards, dealing with the Russian occupation. Again, this is a second hand bit of info. You make a really good point though, and I look forward to future specials on the as-yet unsung heroes of that time
@agentm31 I'm glad I've not offended you as that was really not my intention. It's not that I dislike or disrespect the US military but it just seems every war film is American and as if no other countries even fought in WWII or are fighting in Afghanistan as we speak. I've heard only a few films German-made, one of them being Stalingrad I think.. along with Das Boot? It doesn't sound very familiar and I may have it wrong lol. I also heard about a British version of BoB about Afghan.
I missed this on HBO, but saw it on other stations every chance I had and just finished the Blue Ray version... for the umteenth time. I never tire of it and find something new, each viewing. There aren't enough words to thank the MILLIONS that have served and serve to keep us safe from evil. Here are four, THANK YOU AND CURRAHEE!
@BEFinAR In 1982 I was given the honor of meeting a rare few of the surviving ANZACs.It was an unforgettable experience.Though I am an American I know that it was an extraordinary moment in my life. They were modest to a man but there was sutble pride you couldn't miss.
There is absolutely no honor left. I actually had the displeasure to read posts from another site where people were laughing and joking about WWII. It related to some sort of anime show or something, and it really got my blood boiling. War is nothing to joke about. Soldiers lost their lives for our freedom. I have so much respect for these heros. Now, all that's left is some kid saying "Germany invading France. Get it? Har har har!" Ugh.
@Soeisinger Oh honor is still around, but youll find it is become more and more a rarity. Im 17, and i consider myself honorable considering the general lack of morality and idiots around me, and know quite a few other honorable people aswell. Im enlisted in the USMC. As for the kids joking about something like WWII, well, id like to sock em one. Not something to joke about. Its gonna be a sad day when all the WWII vets are gone. The last WWI vet died not long ago
@mrmapegothe13th Yep, last veteran of the Great War died on the 4th February, her birthday would've been the Sunday that just went, and she would've been 111.. and you and I seem to have a few things in common.
@berserker276 What was her nationality? I cant remember. And i assume you mean the honor and common sense parts about having something in common? Hopefully its a sign that we will do bigger, better things down the road than most people, i for example am hoping to get into Force Recon in the USMC, what comes after that i dont know.
@mrmapegothe13th I salute you for your choie to enlist, and hope to perhaps someday meet you on the frontlines of whatever war our generation is dragged into. Many people have no idea what hell soldiers go through to give us everything we take for granted.
Thankyou to the men and women of America's armed forces, and God Bless Us All.
@GhostReconStrike The men that might be sent to war are good men, but the reasons of the nation to go to war (at least recently) are a lot more worse than just bad. They send good men to fight for the interests of a few. The men that might be sent to war might have a strong feeling of patriotism that they would be willing to die for the US but it would be nice that they can see that the reasons politicians give them to do so are bad.
For all those people who have fought or is fighting for my country, and gave me this freedom. You will always be a hero to me. Even if you are just/were a messenger. No one should be put in a war.
I do not feel worthy of the freedom we have been given by the men and women who sacrificed everything for us. It is so sad that we live in a world still full of such hatred, and disregard for human life.
@pedro2237 I totally agree with You. This is what I say to my friends about our grandparents and everything that they fought for us. People don't appreciate what they have till they lose it- love, friendship, freedom- You name it.
@pedro2237 Not just disregard for human life but life in general, human or not. It disgusts me that such noble man and women have to lay down their lives so some greedy bastards can continue their's.

Amazing music for an Amazing series. I loved the music, my heart fell when fav characters died and the episode about the holocaust, i felt over joyed when the Friends character had to salute to the main characters. This series was perfectly made
Spent today sitting on the winter-windswept bluffs above Utah beach, staring at a grey sea, with this song in my headphones and can't-remotely-hold-them-back tears in my eyes. Some music needs a place setting in order to truly be felt; this piece belongs on that Normandy beach. Deeply moving.
World War II was a just war. These men sacrificed everything so we could have everything. The honor people had about America during this time doesn't exist anymore and its sad. Some of us still feel this way but it it slowing fading. Don't let idiots like Bush and Obama ruin everything these guys fought for.
@cw5394 The honour people had about their countries during WWII has no existence today.. anywhere it seems. I'm from the UK and it seems nobody cares about this country either, I do though.
I don't care who of these men that were the best of all soldiers. The only thing I care about is that they sacrificed their lives so that we could live with free, open minds, and that's the only thing that matter. I'm so thankful that I can't find words for who much I owe them.
@MrRoxxstar Lol they were annoying in a funny way though, Guarnere's attitude towards Dike in Ep 6 was hilarious; "We gotta do all this with a CO with his head so far up his fuckin ass those lump in his throat is his goddamn nose."
@FaTmaN9009 - Do you get a kick out of trying to correct someone ? It was a movie., be it a mini-series or whatever., it was still a movie. As far as Luz & Gaurnierre being two of the best characters "in your opinion"., like you said., thats YOUR opinion., .
I am French, born in 1961 I did not stay on D-Day. But I feel like going there .. may be because I live in CALAIS.but no matter I wanted to wish you the 506 101 82 ect .... my best wishes and a great appreciation for what you have done ... I do not know what I have done and I never know! though?
@soapofnapalm I am aware that this not a movie. The person I was replying to had made a query about movies that dealt with resistance groups and soldiers in exile. You need not apologise for your english. You are a human being as is everyone who puts their thoughts on this page.
@cyberdaemon While what you say of the European theatre is true in general, the Pacific theatre of operations was heavily reliant on locals to provide information about enemy positions, logistics and numbers. The difference is you have a number of small island nations scattered across the Pacific and as the battle for Papua New Guinea proved, local knowlege and support made the Australian campaign possible.
I think that so many humans no only Americans take so much as for granted assuming that someone else will pick up the gun and fight the battle.....The ones that have fought and will in the future fight for our rights should be held in the highest regard.....Our freedoms and rights were God given with the understanding that Mankind will forever uphold these elements of justice and peace. Amen
a war veteran once told me "i didn't hate anyone, i didn't hate the germans, i didn't hate the japs, they were fighting for their countries and so were we, men died, yes, many men died, and we'll live with that forever, but i've forgiven many, war changes you, you go from a boy to a man in two seconds flat..."
This and the pacific made me cry they were so well done. I respect the participants of a WWII, even the Germans who were hoodwinks into such an atrocity.
@MrCallofdutybeast44 And of course when you say Nazis, you mean Germans, as the Nazi Party was not, of course, representative of all German soldiers. It was the Germans who fought for their country. The Nazis were murdering, genocidal maniacs hell-bent on ruling the world. They were not fighting for their country just their own political gain.
The German army fought for their country.
May all those who fought, regardless of colour and race, rest in peace.
this series always gave the goosebumps and still does to this day.
it shows the true horror of war and the comradery between men literally going through heel for one another. It fills me with pride that these men took to their duty so selflessly and in some cases they paid the ultimate price and im not even American or have any realtion to the war. But it wasnt only the men of easy company, it was all the allied soldiers but "band of Brothers" just portrays it so magnificently
I am watching this again for the 4th time, i remember watching 10 years ago with my dad and everytime i watch it now it reminds me of as a boy sat there with my dad. The emotion the series hold its out of this world and i honestly feel in 50 years this series will be as good as it was when it first came out.
great movie, great music, and great actors............THE PRODUCERS, STEVEN SPEILBERG AND TOM HANKS DID A GREAT JOB. I love this show, and it truly melts my heart....Im history buff, and I love to learn all about wwII and all wars, but this part, really holds a special place in my heart........Easy Company really did go thru Hell and back, FOR THEIR COUNTRY, I for one say, TYVM, for all that u did, and GOD BLESS ALL OF OUR SOLDIERS. WE LOVE YOU, N MISS YOU!
MY favorite part of this series is when (i cannot remember his name) starts the company tradition of being shot in the ass and he said "i sorry sir i didn't mean to fuck up!" "where are you fucked up?" "MY ass!" "YOUR ASS?!"
Brilliant series. Respect to all those who died and fought for us all to live free lives. Many of my fellow Welsh/British died for what we all have today, being free is the single most important happiness in life.
@1122zone A very good movie about the Dutch resistance movement was "Soldiers of Orange". My grandmother was a member of the Filipino-American guerillas when the Japanese invaded her home island. I wish that all the underground movements of then and today could be given their just due. They often paid a terrible price for their courage and many actions like the invasion at Normandy would not have been possible without their help.
This theme has to be one of the greatest I've ever heard. After having watched each and every single part of the series, it perfectly captures all the hard times, all the memories and all the bonding experienced by those brave men of Easy Company during the war. It gives me goose bumps every time I hear it as I realize that even with this brilliant show, I will never be able to feel what the men of Easy Company truly felt.
Allied countries like the UK, US, France etc shouldve stepped in years before the start of the war to stop this travesty from happening... unfortunatly we didnt, and so we must remember and honour our fallen who fought for the better of the world..... maximum respect to them, as always.... LEST WE FORGET <3
@boombastic0025 The outcome wouldn't have been the same had the Allies done that. You need public support to win a war and in WWII's case, the public did the majority of the war machining. The public wouldn't have supported a conflict unless they were attacked, which is what happened and exactly how the Allies got into the war, starting with France, then Britain, then the US.
you guys are pretty selfish tbh...ww2 was political and tactical shit and that's the fact, but i think that most of us is here for giving a shoutout to everyone who put his life in service of defending the human dignity and future, doesn't matter if he/she was British,American,Brazilian,Korean,Russian,Pakistani or Albanian...
@GriffithAMPS That would be HBO, which is an American television company, not sure if a series about the war in Britain would be potentially profitable in the U.S., maybe a Brit T.V. company should make it.
It wasn't nice from France and UK when they promised to help Czech, and when the Hitler came just before the start of war and asked for our land, the great UK and France simply sold us and told our army to lay down weapons and let Germans take us.
@Elydir It also wasn't nice when we did the same thing to you after the war and gave you to the Russians. We should have fought straight through Germany, taking prisoners along the way, and as soon as we met the Russians we should have let the Germans fight with us straight to Moscow. Would have saved us 50 years of Cold War bullshit that we're not over today.
@recliner9876 Actually, the British did formulate a tentative plan for that, to attack Russia immediately afterwards. (Don't remember the name, sorry). But there were many logistical problems with it, and the rest of the Allies (chiefly the United States) didn't want to start another large conflict. Also, remember that while the U.S. had the superior air force, the Soviets had the largest army in the world, meaning overtaking their territory would have been very difficult.
What a tragic episode in history it was. The full breadth of human behaviour - from appalling, callous disregard for life and hatred on an industrial scale to the most astonishing acts of selfless bravery - was seen in some way in that war.
I just wish people would stop using it for points-scoring today. The reason for fighting the second world war was to close a chapter of hatred and violence so that we might move on. I wish we could.
@tarekfett You forgot to mention that we had to foot the bill for two of their other memorable screw-ups. Algeria in the 1960's and ultimately we would pay the price in French Indo-China better known to my generation as Vietnam. They failed to see after WW2 that colonialism was dead.
@TheTerminator2400 You should be proud of the legacy they have left you. They fought not only for ideals but for those that stood beside them in the hellfires of war.I have been honored to serve this land, this country of ours and will never forget those brothers in arms who will not be coming home.
@TheRobloxfighter *cough* RUSSIA *cough* xD But on the whole US vs British thing, D-Day explains it best. 2 British Beaches, 2 American beaches. The US wouldn't of been able to win without the British, and the British wouldn't of been able to win without the US. Simples.
@Redheadfury Well...Russia themselves weren't exactly the good guys either...we were allies with them because we were against the nazi regime as well as they were.
@pulleyking@Hashashinable no he doesnt mean that at all. what he means by being born in the wrong time is that he would have been born in the right time had he lived in the time when classical music was the popular form of music.
@pulleyking Oh really? I guess that bomb factory they found by my street were making bombs to quarry stone were they? And those armed policemen at airports are there for decoration? We're alot more vulnerable than you think make.
@Redheadfury Oh Yeh I'm sure there was a bomb factory on your street. I totally believe you... Terrorists are less of a threat to life than cheese burgers and cigarettes.
I think this series will have been better with a story on both side, Japanese are human to.

Fennec2828 2 months ago
I think that so many humans no only Americans take so much as for granted assuming that someone else will pick up the gun and fight the battle.....The ones that have fought and will in the future fight for our rights should be held in the highest regard.....Our freedoms and rights were God given with the understanding that Mankind will forever uphold these elements of justice and peace. Amen

When the final taps is sounded and we lay aside life's cares,
And we do the last and gloried parade on heaven's shining stairs,
And the angels bid us welcome and the harps begin to play
We can draw a million canteen checks and spend them in a day.
It is then we'll hear St. Peter tell us loudly with a yell,
"Take a front seat, you soldier men, you've done your hitch in Hell."

MrCallofdutybeast44 3 months ago

Allied countries like the UK, US, France etc shouldve stepped in years before the start of the war to stop this travesty from happening... unfortunatly we didnt, and so we must remember and honour our fallen who fought for the better of the world..... maximum respect to them, as always.... LEST WE FORGET <3
boombastic0025 4 months ago
@boombastic0025 The outcome wouldn't have been the same had the Allies done that. You need public support to win a war and in WWII's case, the public did the majority of the war machining. The public wouldn't have supported a conflict unless they were attacked, which is what happened and exactly how the Allies got into the war, starting with France, then Britain, then the US.

i think the filmmakers of this series, and the ones who made "The Pacific" should do a third series about the soldiers in the UK
GriffithAMPS 4 months ago
@GriffithAMPS That would be HBO, which is an American television company, not sure if a series about the war in Britain would be potentially profitable in the U.S., maybe a Brit T.V. company should make it.

It wasn't nice from France and UK when they promised to help Czech, and when the Hitler came just before the start of war and asked for our land, the great UK and France simply sold us and told our army to lay down weapons and let Germans take us.
Elydir 4 months ago
@Elydir It also wasn't nice when we did the same thing to you after the war and gave you to the Russians. We should have fought straight through Germany, taking prisoners along the way, and as soon as we met the Russians we should have let the Germans fight with us straight to Moscow. Would have saved us 50 years of Cold War bullshit that we're not over today.
recliner9876 3 months ago

I wish we could.
wahaya2 4 months ago
@tarekfett You forgot to mention that we had to foot the bill for two of their other memorable screw-ups. Algeria in the 1960's and ultimately we would pay the price in French Indo-China better known to my generation as Vietnam. They failed to see after WW2 that colonialism was dead.
