@rqbuchanan thanks for the recommendations, i'm gonna look into those guys a bit closer. so far, i've been liking Bruno Nicolai's work the most after Morricone's.

@heirihunziker I've only heard but a few of his scores, but his music for "The Mercenary" is terrific.

i like it, even though one has to admit it's just a bit too much of a Morricone ripoff.

@heirihunziker Every Italian composer who's scored spaghetti westerns after "Fistful" - Umiliani, Piccioni, Reverberi, Bacalov, etc. - has followed Morricone's model to some extent. These derivations of Cipriani's contributions to the genre are only especially egregious.

@rqbuchanan agreed. i'm actually happy about this, because over the years i've already got to know most of Morricone's work (soon i'll have heard it all, took me ages though), and so i'm glad to go discover more spaghetti from the lesser contributors. it's virtually impossible to have heard every track from all those movies thanks to the multitude of Morricone imitators. who's your favorite besides the maestro?

@heirihunziker To be honest, I can't decide between and Piccioni and Cipriani. Of these two, the former was more innovative, the latter more engaging by dint of accessibility. With confidence, I can recommend nearly all of their work.
