The "flap" opens not before 6000U/min (noise level because the law). But in "sportmodus" it opens at 3000U/min. U/min-limit is at 8000 U/min for the CSL!
How do you open the airbox flap at low rpm?? Is there a button to open it in the "real" cs?l Whe have the same csl airbox in our m3 (not csl) and flap didn't open at all...we have alpha n and everything...
Now we removed the flap completely and it sounds just as gorgeous as yours with opened flap
There is a cold air intake. Look at the hole on the front bumper. It has pipe work that feeds cold air up towards the air box. I should know as I own one!

When you push the sport button it opens to take more air. It looks like it but its not a turbine.

Yes, in the middle of the airbox. The air box can be opened by removing the bolts which hold the two halves together.
