The series started by taking the sessions seriously but then I think fans of the show reacted negatively to Tony apparently being humanized, so the writers then twisted the sessions every which way to serve plot needs until finally they could gracefully end them, considering them as an ill-conceived experiment.

the final season made me feel uncomfortable and i could not explain why.maybe that was it,who knows.
