I have loved his singing for forty years - since I heard his recordings with New York Pro Musica and particularly the Handel album. I never liked Deller and when I heard Oberlin it was as if a light came on and THAT was what I wanted.
He's on here on youtube singing a few of Bertarido's arias from Rodelinda. I do however think he's more of a lower ct. His voice is just altogether differnt than the ct's we have today.
Hmmm, the begining of this piece makes me wonder what would he sound if he had taped into Broadway musicals. Only a semi-operatic voice and good diction (ok, his Italian is less than perfect, but forget that). Not bad material for showtunes. :)

Enjoyable. I'd be curious to hear a high note of his. He seems to be singing below C5 a lot. Which is really tenor.

What I have noticed is that he does use head voice while singing.
