This is noor jehan singing for faiz himself,he had just gotten out of jail I think Ali noor of Noori his grand dad recorded it,Musa Kazim is his name if I am not mistaken.

this is noor jahan. when faiz ahmad faiz was realsed frm the Rawalpindi conspiracy case, probably in 55 or 56, Noor Jahan went to his place to congratulate him and as a token gift , recited these couplets for him. fortunately Raza Kazim( a music connossieur and a critic) was also present dre wid his Spool tape recorder, so he recorded these beautiful pieces. this was told ma raza kazim himself who stil had the orginal recordings preserved wid him
Although nice singing but this is not noor jahan for sure as the lady singing pronounce 3 wrong words. I also compared with original noor jahan and she pronounce correctly. 3 words are Aanayat, Abadat and Mahek and correct words are Eenayat, Ibaday and Mehak

Yaar Noor jehan was from punjab so tallafuz dilli se bahar ke gaoon ka yehi hai tum dilli ke tallaffuz ki baat kar rahey ho, when she sang with music she sang with proper pronounciation. Also plz note that she is singing 1st time this poem and its her fun that she made the lay and sur on spot. Bravo madam, Allah maghfarat karey ameen
this surely is noor jahan sir... though i dont know why did noor jahan pronounce these words like this at this occasion but in order to balance the notes n the poetry, words in urdu can be pronounced n written like this...
for example u can see the use of word 'bkaar' instead of 'baykaar', 'mray' instead of 'mairay', 'lohu' instead of 'lahu' etc etc. in urdu poetry by different poets
..actually (for once in my life:)I stand corrected!.. it was a rather rash comment, based largely on the way she has changed the sur on this rendering (2nd "dehr"), but I have since listened to (and throroughly enjoyed) your other posts from this mehfil and concluded that it is indeed her. Thank you Sir, for locating and posting these!
Someone else who listened to this said the same thing but the person from whom I obtained the audio says otherwise. This mehfil took place at his parents' home in Lahore in 1959...so he claims!
Those listeners who listened to her old songs can very well recognize this voice. So I think you shouldn't be comparing this voice with her 80s songs...

The vocalist is Noor Jahan, and there's no doubt.
Those listeners who listened to her old songs can very well recognize this voice. So I think you shouldn't be comparing this voice with her 80s songs...
