Every character should be able to use DLC costumes, original or custom. The Santa character in this video is a custom character wearing Santa outfit. Not sure why it isn't working for you.

yeah the stats arent that great but mainly for asthetics. I wish Namco would release some real DLC worth your money. not just holiday items are stuff that's already on the disc (aka. vader/yoda and all these other clothing unlockables that were in premium edition).

I guess, if you use Cervantes outfit. But you can just get the DLC for "only" $1.99USD. Now I'm sure some people are going to say "no way" rip off... ok fine. Cant help there I feel for all you but I'm pretty sure there's other things that can be had for 1.99 Just depends how bad you want it and whether you want to bitch slap around a fat santa. You do also get I believe the girls christmas outfit if thats any consolation like the one Taki is wearing in this video to justify the cost.

easiest way is training mode in options. you get 15-20 secs (maybe less or more, never really timed it) of replay playback. the hard way, between matches in versus or story mode. still limited to 15-20 secs.

yes, there's "armor" destruction in Soul Calibur IV. It's not just cosmetic damage in the game as it does lower defenses once destroyed.
