The terme hero is definetly subjective. The Gastark army was invading Stohl thus even though they saved the civilians it was them who started the fighting to begin with. Unlike Ryner who wanted the relics as deterrants to war Gastark is more than willing to use them for mass slaughter of enemy forces. If we've learned anything so far it's that people on here with pink hair are not the good guys.

That's what makes the writing so awesome. It's far more convincing when the antagonists are not clean-cut villains, and that makes it better in my opinion. =] It gives you a better feel for war too. There would be no reason to avoid war if everyone you fought was evil.
