Great review, like how you show your enthusiasm for different genres of bikes, im the same, i can pretty much jump on anything and have a good day out...
Luke, how tall are you? I ask because I am interested in this bike and a couple other motorcycles you tested and I want to gage how comfortable I would be (at 5'8'' tall) on those same bikes that you rode and if they'd be a good fit for me. Sounds like a glowing report on the Victory!
I've had a hammer S for nearly a year now and it is my daily commuter, doing about 10k a year on it and it is awesome.
The nice thing about it is if you are at a set of lights next at 1500 rpm next to someone on a sports bike they can cat and pass you but they have to know what their doing and rev the nuts off it.
Also with the loud exhaust (i have straight through pipes) cars part before you as they hear you coming, so the london commute is easier than you may think.
I have the same 09 Hammer S (check out my vid) love the bike but at 80-90mph on the highway its a mother f...no fairing really puts alot of wind on your body and holding on is a full time job...
you say the jap versions don't have the raw power ? have you ridden the suzuki m109r ? i had one for 18 months and they are quicker than the victory, i must admit
that i got tired of it and went back to a litre sport bike, ( much more excitment. )
i would however buy a victory ( ness model ) rather than any other cruiser
yet another top notch vid! Always good to watch. Best motorcycle reviewer on youtube buy far! From uk but live Stateside now for last 6 years, had 06 triumph rocket bought brand new. Before that had harley electro glide! Used to ride moto cross and sports bike back in uk. That new hammer s looks like a nice bike! Will look forward to more of your reviews....
Great vids! I'm stunned that that sound is coming from stock pipes. I fell in love with the Fat Bob I rented for a couple weeks last year, and I thought that bike had an amazing stock sound but the Hammer is insane. Keep riding the bikes I love man... simply awesome :) I'm hoping to get a chance to ride a Thunderbird soon because it's a tossup between the three. Love them all.
When it's time to an new bike I may just have to go for a test ride...I'm not a cruiser guy but that bike might just convert me! What an awesome sound! And in a matt finish it looks awesome too!
I almost bought one, went with a Harley instead... I don't doubt the Victory in terms of performance, but it's sort of like a 67 mustang vs a 2010, sure you get decent looks and much more in terms of performance, but there's something missing.
Still, I plan on owning a Victory one day, when I can get one cheap enough to warrant making into a proper bobber
@motorcycleluke Ohh nice, I tell ya, classic Yankie cars... Nothing they've made in the past 35 years comes close... 60's Impalas, 50s Roadmasters, can't beat em.
Yeah if I was more into the sports bikes then the Hammer S would be first in line, and I hear they go like the dogs bits.
Keep up the good ermm... riding kick ass bikes! (can I get that job? :P )
I'm torn
I've always loved this bike, but recently I've discovered the buell 1125cr
I've still a couple of years to decide before I switch, but they are both such great bikes!!

sorry guys but that is not the standard exhaust on that bike
it is the 2-1 stage 1 performance pipe, i should know i fitted it
it does make a great sound and it is a fantastic bike to ride.
if you are at all curious about victory please go and ride one they are an awesome machine
there isnt a single model in the range i dont like riding and everytime i go out on one it makes me feel special
great bikes
