@Tobiiiify the original is a hornloaded 12"/2" coaxial horn loaded top, both speakers in it horn loaded and on one axys (the 12" is behind the 2")

clipping the red light on the amp is a sure way to kill your subs and highs no compressors or limiters anywhere i see - nice gera though

@skateboardkid If he has it set up right, he should be able to allow the sub to flicker in clip mode. If it stays on, then it would be bad. But if theres a drumlike sound that it only clips on, he should be okay.

@djsexty The 1 HE machine? That's a Behringer DCX. I use it too. Cheap and works like a charm. I use it to create a delay for my top speakers because my subs are horn-loaded.

And I also use it as a crossover.

Nothing bad about clipping. Amps have protection and limitation circuits, and you know you use full power, if the clip led blinks few times a minute. But it must be short, no stop lighting few times a minute :-)

The worse is speaker side - Speakers really dislike limitations, espetially in horn loaded enclosures. But PD1850 can handle really brutal power overload for short time. 100% no problem when correct and no cone excursion limits exceeded or bad crossover used.

i think the dynacord amp has a build in limiter....the red led is supposed to show us when the limiter kicks in

no distorsion there, just the camera microphone went pass the litle xmech. That was a test to see how the woofers are working in the horn, that's why the CL2000 was pushed so hard.

So, back to study SingJiga, and learn about microphones when they pass theyre mechanical limitations before you call people names.
