  • Thanks for sharing this lesson.

Your guitar is tuned 1/2 step down?

  • maybe... i always tune by ear

  • Seems like a lot of the old time blues guys tuned down one or two half steps. It's a slinkier, looser feel, and it's worth trying out. Plus you might find it easier to sing in the lower key(s).

  • Ya he's tuned down.

  • no more vids anymore? bro, what happened?

  • I've been using this lesson, its one of the best I've found. You really should do some more!

  • i like the lesson . would love if you used a guitar with some sort of dot inlay so i wouldnt have to count frets lol but other than that AWESOME

  • Yes. The fact that stuff like this is on YouTube gives me a bit more faith in humanity. Thank You.

  • Thanks for that lesson in 'essential' Tommy Johnson. I've tried to get a handle on his style for so many years now. I feel I'm nearly there now. ( ..a bummer that I can't sing ! ) You've helped enormously. Cheers ! P.S., I don't have a tuner either but I was in sync with your guitar straight off.

  • hello, i tried to learn that canned heat blues song from your lesson. please look me up at you tube under pacisablo. leave a comment, i'd like to learn more from your blues, but you only have one lesson that i've found. please respond dude

  • i often change between tunings and don't have any electronic tuner, so after playing for some time, there might be some variation... my apologies

  • 8notes(dot)com has a tuner on it's site

  • WHY DO you tune your guitar down a half step? It would be better if you used standard A=440 tuning

  • thanks a lot, I just heard this song for the first time a few days ago on the southern blues vol.1 compilation, and know I can play it and utilize some of the techniques in my own blues playing.

    thanks a lot
