Seems like a lot of the old time blues guys tuned down one or two half steps. It's a slinkier, looser feel, and it's worth trying out. Plus you might find it easier to sing in the lower key(s).
I played with Canned heat in May 2007 and they were awesome. I played flute on going up the country, fanatstic...leave a comment on my you tube or website please check the video tab

Thanks for that lesson in 'essential' Tommy Johnson. I've tried to get a handle on his style for so many years now. I feel I'm nearly there now. ( ..a bummer that I can't sing ! ) You've helped enormously. Cheers ! P.S., I don't have a tuner either but I was in sync with your guitar straight off.

It's a nice lesson for people who play classical nylon string guitars. Most lessons concentrate on electric. You do good work. Take care.

i often change between tunings and don't have any electronic tuner, so after playing for some time, there might be some variation... my apologies

8notes(dot)com has a tuner on it's site

WHY DO you tune your guitar down a half step? It would be better if you used standard A=440 tuning
