This is nice but I personally think melee has more advanced techniques. Don't get me wrong, I love brawl, it's hella fun, but if I'm gonna play something more competitive and technical then I would stick with melee. There is just much more possibilities with it.

this game pisses me off so much these days. it requires such an absurd level of precision and reflexes and timing all while trying to think of some sort of strategy. that's all fair enough in the end though and i'm basically just complaining because i suck, but what's IS bullshit is that you apparently have to memorize all sorts of shit. When two players use a move at once it seems that certain ones just blow through certain other ones. Memorizing which moves work where is not skill.
Do you have to be using a gamecube controller when performing the dash attack cancells? I've been trying to get it but I've been using a wii remote and nunchuk. Will this affect whether or not i can perform this technique? Thanks for the squirtle shuffle! I got that down, and you can use a wii remote for that technique! XD
so on the classic controller, a DACUS can be done by dashing, tapping the right stick down and then an immediate up-smash-input with either up on that same stick while holding ZL or ZR? if anyone knows, please correct me...
A DAC is a Dash Attack Cancel. To perform it you must dash (Obvious point), press C-down, and Z and up at the same time. It's pretty hard to do, and only a few characters slide when doing it. I screw it up about 75% of the time lol
Fail, it's actually a lot easier to do with most characters by hitting the C-stick down then immediately doing Z-up like a regular smash attack O.o Less buttons

You can do it by dash attacking followed by a well timed up smash with control stick + A, I do it with snake all the time on Wii+Nunchuck. Or you could try activating smash tap as a customised controller.
These are not exploits... these are discoveries on how to do something better. If someone else doesn't want to learn it and you use it anyway, that's not cheating... that IS skill because it takes skill to master these techniques.
Alot of these "techniques" are not even new and are common sense.... I don't get it. Im also surprised that the number one technique wasnt wavedashing. But im glad its helping people out.
Heres a tip for playing with a Gamecube controller. As you run and you initiate the attack, immediately use the thumb that was on the joystick to flick the c-stick, not your right thumb.
So you just do a dash attack and before it finishes you flick the c-stick up/side or where you want to have it and then it cancels the dash attack and it does a smash attack? ^^

it puts your opponent in for a surprise attack, like the expect a running attack, but you hit them with a smash attack instead.

A DAC is a Dash Attack Cancel. To perform it you must dash (Obvious point), press C-down, and Z and up at the same time. It's pretty hard to do, and only a few characters slide when doing it. I screw it up about 75% of the time lol

You can do it by dash attacking followed by a well timed up smash with control stick + A, I do it with snake all the time on Wii+Nunchuck. Or you could try activating smash tap as a customised controller.

yes for the wiimote and nunchuk u can just make and under loop then hit the U smash very fast. but u cannot do the Snake nor Link ones. :P

They're techniques that the creators inadvertantly included into the game. Just because it wasn't intentional doesn't mean it's cheap.

These are not exploits... these are discoveries on how to do something better. If someone else doesn't want to learn it and you use it anyway, that's not cheating... that IS skill because it takes skill to master these techniques.

Heres a tip for playing with a Gamecube controller. As you run and you initiate the attack, immediately use the thumb that was on the joystick to flick the c-stick, not your right thumb.

So you just do a dash attack and before it finishes you flick the c-stick up/side or where you want to have it and then it cancels the dash attack and it does a smash attack? ^^
