I clicked on this song because I have heard other tenors sing it. Ater seeing them do Beethoven on AGT I did not expect this. I thought they would butcher it. THEY ARE GOOD!!
I think this is hilarious. The comedy comes from the background and the fact that you don't expect rednecks to be this cultured. The mullets are top notch!
The middle guy looks like the Mayor of Oz ...LOL ...Here we have 3 rednecks waddle onto the stage with suits too tight for them. All 3 of them standing there like "stiffs" from the local cemetery ... and then they sing like total opera pros ... when I closed my eyes they were "wonderful" ... when I opened my eyes to look at them I busted a gut ... but, hell, yeah, they sounded awesome. Who was the final guy that cam on -- Gerry The Redneck Bartender? (haha) .. Applause!
The term Redneck originally referred to farmers and ranchers, because the back of their necks were usually sunburned because of being in the sun so much. It has evolved to refer to people who generally either live in the south, on a farm, in a small town, like country music or anyone who just wishes they were one of the aforementioned.
They really are good...a moving version, but they should drop the redneck stuff!..I'd like to hear the tenor sing this alone...I think he'd do it well!
In the script, as part of the early story, the third tenor had to be replaced because he was in a terrible woodchipper accident! So, he was replaced last minute with another one of their relatives who is normally a baritone. For the purposes of their show, they are calling him (if you close your eyes and listen as they suggest) a lazy tenor with no high notes. No need to quibble....
You're right. The show starts with one of the original three dying in a wood chipper. So another cousin joins in, not a tenor.
The premise is that three tenors, like three sopranos, or three you-name-it can really only sing in unison. Kinda boring, at least not as dynamic as having different voices, which allows harmony (chords and a richer sound).
In the United States, a "redneck" or "hillbilly" is a poor or working-class white person. It used to be limited to certain regions of the United States, but now you can find people who call themselves "rednecks" all over the country. =)
Alright, you got me. Decidedly not what I was expecting. This might be one of the best renditions of Nessun Dorma I've heard. Also, these guys sound classically trained. Does anyone know if they were or not?
very cool clip. I enjoyed this one almost as much as I've enjoyed the Paul Potts clip. One question... can someone tell me who was the fourth guy to come on the stage?
His name is Dinny McGuire. He plays the part of "The Colonel" in their stage show. He is a tremendous talent, as he narrates and moves the performance along - "managing" the Boys. We just saw the show for the third time. If it ever comes to your town, run out for tickets. You won't be sorry!
You know, they make me rethink what a redneck really is... As a lover of operas, I thought they were going to destroy this, but even their annunciation of Italian is flawless! OMG!
That is probably the dumbest thing i have ever heard about rednecks. I live in mississippi right in the middle of the largest redneck populations lives and where the term was coined. Just about every redneck I know loves to watch TV on their couch drinking beer. Redneck doesn't always mean poor. Its a lifestyle and most of the time a choice. Don't dis when you know nothing about what you are talking about. Rednecks can love opera Too!!
I have to echo someone else. I too expected this to be a joke but it was beautiful. I've never heard it with harmonies before. Thank you for sharing. This gentleman are fantastic.
This is great. Country folk listening , performing and enjoying Opera. I am a classically trained musician raised in NYC. I grew up listening to Tom T Hall, George Jones, and Charlie Pride, and this makes me feel great.
I thought this was going to be a joke video. But it was actually really really good. And that woman at the end screaming made me wanna cut my ears off, but it was still worth the watch.
It's not about being a snob, you moron. What if an Italian singer sings "Ebry bahlee" instead of Every valley? would you think someone correcting him/her would be also a snob?
Funny you'd use an example like that. Every time I heard Pavarotti, Carreras, Domingo, et al. sing pieces like the National Anthem they always butchered the pronunciation. Doesn't subtract from the art.
And before you call me a moron. Yes, I saw each of them many times live. I grew up practically on the steps of the SF War Memorial.
Oh, and unless you've performed a principal role on the stage of the Met or originated a Broadway role, I'd back off these guys.
You were just here in Ogdensburg and I can't tell you how much we small town people appreciate your great talents. I loved you last year and again thie year. You promised to return next year and I hope with more operatic arias. We're starved for opera and , of course, comedy lightens all our hearts.
By far the best spoof of this type was the old Cingular Wireless ad where the cowboy was playing the guitar and singing "La donna e mobile" - and the ad campaign was something like "be yourself". Wonder if there's a video clip of that anywhere. Probably went over many people's heads.
That was actually very good! I saw them first on America's Got Talent, They're terrific. And the trailer really adds the touch. Fantastic guys! Fantastico!
Oh my gosh! That's absolutely hilarious! Totally spoofs the "Three Tenors" big time with a country and Western flavor and actually performs the music quite well, evenif taken down a couple steps from the original key.

if your asking what "redneck" means..its a term used to describe a mostly less intellagent american normally who lives in the south
paintmaster57 2 years ago
It means, essentially, from the country side, or backwoods. It also implies crudeness and extreme ignorance.
