  • @sddriver it looks great! you got any pics of it by any chance, i just picked up a sweet 83 turbo, and the guy scrubbed one too many curbs

  • Is that the xenon air dam on your car?

  • @wyattllc Yes, it's the urethane Xenon air dam with the brake ducts.

  • Damn nice.! That will be my next step(: Check out my videos some time.!(:

  • i got a 79 datsun 280zx. its slammed so low i cant make it up a dyno. still running 15s at the track with bald tires. will be boosting it come tax time

  • @xXkeiichiXx Awesome, these cars take to boost very well. Keep me posted on your progress!

  • @sddriver got some new rubber in the rear and a better intake, getting some 8.5mm msd wires in a few days. thats the only new things done latly. ordering 15x10 wheels next month too

  • @xXkeiichiXx Sweet, glad your Z car project is moving along! What kind of wheels are you getting?

  • @sddriver diamond racing wheels

  • @sddriver i do have vids of me racing my datsun

  • nice car dude

    i own an 81 280zx datsun and my friend an 76 280z

but u car looks pretty cool...

  • @carlitos1989angel Thanks, do you have any videos of your Z?

  • @sddriver not yet

    i still workin on it..lol

    but i will soon.

  • how much boost on dyno video sounds good and what size turbo

  • Sorry for the late reply. 14 psi, and it's a T3/T04B turbo.

  • really nice car hope you still got it. make another video with it.

  • Thanks! I do have the car still. One of these days I will make another video. I've been pretty busy, and my poor Z has been neglected lately so there are some things to address.

  • What kind of springs u got on. I'm trying to lower my car but can't find nothing.

  • I have Suspension Techniques springs on my Z. You can also find Tokicos as well. Both lower about 1" although I've heard the ST are stiffer than the Tokicos.

  • Koo. Thanks btw. I love that front. Looks hella nice. I just bought a 280zx so now I'm planning things for it. But yea sweet ride.

  • What kind of bodykit is that. In the front

  • It's a Xenon urethane front air dam. The version with brake ducts instead of a full solid front.

  • thats a beauty

  • Thanks!

  • Nice ZX I just got an 81 looks just like yours but I am setting up for drifting. I also will be doing a t3/t4 on a non turbo car and run 18 lbs of boost and keep it like that with other mods as well..right now what ells have you done to the car ?

  • Hi, aside from the baby t3/t4 I have on there, I have a 3" dp, Spearco i/c, JWT ecu setup, TiAL wg, HKS headgasket, and some other small things like an ignition and boost controller upgrades. It's a fairly mild setup compared to most people on here, but it's my DD so I can't go too crazy!

  • How much HP dus a stock 280zx make? (non turbo)

  • I think they make around 115-125 hp at the wheels. My Z made 146 hp stock.

  • thx. Yours is a turbo model rite? How many pounds of boost?

  • Correct, it's a turbo zx. Max boost is set at 16 pounds, but in my vids the boost is set at 14. I'm changing the head gasket right now to an HKS metal gasket so that's why I haven't made any new videos.

  • o thats kool. Stock turbo? Hay you think you can tell me the dif between Boost and PSI on a turbo???

  • I have a T3/T04B on my Z currently. Boost and PSI are pretty much the same thing. Boost is any positive manifold pressure, and psi just tells how much above atmospheric pressure you are.

  • Whats better? a turbo at 20psi or one at 19pnds?

  • There's nothing to debate leave that way is just orgasmic.

  • Do you dump the wastegate to atmos? I think yes because sound like my car. BEAUTIFUL

  • Thanks, you're correct, the wastegate is vented to the atmosphere. I'm still debating whether to recirculate it, or leave it dumped.

  • lol is that a JDM sticker i see in the corner of the windshild?

  • Yeah it's for new drivers in Japan with less than a year's worth of driving experience. I just kept it since my old driving days.

  • Finnaly got the the vid of mine up

nothing special and the camera didnt record the sound to good but here it is. Give 5* ya? lol

  • if that's your BOV leaking then no wonder it was running rich... :) SanDiego cruise 2008!

  • Haha I know right? That woulda been an easy fix right there on the dyno! Cruising sounds good! Let's get Rod out of the Batcave next time around!

  • wuts a BOV cause my z is running really rich and i dont wanna take it to a shop to get it fixed if i can do i myself

  • BOV = Blow off valve. It vents off boost when you close the throttle. Is your Z turbo or naturally aspirated?

  • it aint a turbo...im thinkin that one of my sensors is bad or somthins wrong with my fuel injectors but i dont really know

  • Sorry for the super late reply, but the most common issue on these old Z's are the sensor connectors get corrosion built up. The next thing to check is the TPS and cylinder head temp sensor. They are the usual culprits for running rich. The next is the water temp sensor for cold start up. If it's bad, the ecu will keep sending more fuel thinking the motor is still cold.

  • what kinda rims are those??

  • They're SSR Longchamp XR-4 wheels.

  • what size and offset?

  • The fronts are 15x6.5 +13, and the the rears are 15x7 +6. In this vid I had SSR reverse mesh 16x8 on the rear.

  • lol thank you! im possibly thinkin of buy a set of these rims, but thank you for giving me this info:) (most people take like a year to reply and there like.. idk..)
