  • i just absolutely love the tune. in germany it is a christmas carol by the way.

sung a little bit faster. for those interested, here are the lyrics:

    Welchen Jubel, welche Freude

    bringt die schöne Weihnachtszeit!

    Fröhlich sieht man alle Leute

    in der ganzen Christenheit.

"Ehr' sei Gott", so laßt erschallen,

"und Fried' auf Erden, Menschen Wohlgefallen!

Euch ist ja der Heiland geboren,

    der Herr, in der Davidsstadt."

  • I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (November 2) was All Saints' Sunday. We sang this as our opening hymn. It is #423 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship in the Festivals, Commemorations section. Just thought I'd share.

  • Owhh!!! Sooooo heavenly!!! God bless the arranger, the leader and the singers! I believe the angels were singing with you all...

  • This is so lovely. Thank you so much for recording this :o)

    God bless

  • In Japan, there's actually a kid's playground song about raccoon testicles to the tune of this hymn, it goes like this:

Tan tan tanuki no kintama wa

    Kaze mo nai no ni

    Bura bura.

    Here's a rough translation:

    Ra, ra, raccoon dog's testicles

Even though there is no wind

    They swing and sway everywhere.

  • It's your duty to post it.
