PRECISELY : Hyppoampus Waleananus was first discovered in Walea Bahi on the house reef of Walea Dive Resort from the dive guide Sonny Kandow on 2001. From 2001 you can see it every day few meters from the resort's jetty and in other reefs of Walea's Protected Area. The first picture was made in 2001 by the famous photographer Settimio Cipriani.
