Thank you so much for posting this commercial. The pro-bowler featured is my grandfather (Al Werbeck). He passed away suddenly this past March, and we all miss him. When I was a little girl, I used to watch bowling every Saturday, just to see "grandpa's commercial". Thanks to you, I was able to share this post with my children, who miss their "GG" (great grandpa) very much. You've made our family very happy. ~Carolyn
@heine71 From Wikipedia : In 1981 Ebonite began manufacturing the very first polyurethane cover stock bowling balls and sold the rights to AMF. Ebonite did not believe that bowlers would pay the $80.00 price this new technology would demand. That ball became the AMF Angle and this one coverstock change allowed the ball to get a better grip on the polyurethane finishes used on natural wood lane surfaces, which changed the nature of the bowling game significantly.
My brother won many tournaments including New Jersey State Championship. He bowled in many places throughout his bowling career but in later years he bowled mostly on Long Island. I don't know if you are a spiritual person but I asked my brother for a sign that he is ok. A few days later I found this video. You posted it right before he passed away. I think I was meant to find it. I think he is telling me he is ok and to remember him when he was at his peak, not as I saw him a year ago. Lois
Thank you for writing back. My whole family is happy that you put the tv commercial on YouTube. What made you put it up here? It is such an old commercial. Lois

@StoneCold75 AMF sold the bowling bowl rights to Ebonite??

@heine71 no, Ebonite invented the urethane technology and sold it to AMF who then put out the Angle ball

What made you put the video up since it is so old?
Did you know my brother?
He passed away on March 4th.
I was so shocked, happy, sad to see it.
