What does it mean to "Really believe." Believe means to be persuaded that something is true. If a person believes in the person and finished work of Christ and the cross they are saved. Period. Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. 1 John 5:1. You either believe or you don't. We shouldn't complicate what the word "believe" means. Nobody does is any other context. You seem to have made up your own definition to fit your theology!
Whosoever liveth and believeth on me shall never die. Faith alone in Christ alone. A Christian cannot go to hell. You are confused, ... Candace. The moment a person believes in Jesus they are instantly saved. John 6:47, 5:24, 20:30-31.
Read Galatians 3:14, KJV. That the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Kirk teaches Lordship Salvation, which is unbiblical.
@jacksmack77... It depends what is meant by the word "Believe". Yes, Saved by Faith alone, I agree. But only if one truly belives. Someone just saying they believe, may not mean they really believe. For if one truly believes, he will want to repent and become more and more like Yahshua, Jesus. Someone who says they believe, but continues to justify their sin, does NOT yet have a saving belief. James 2:19 says,...even the demons believe.
"For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person."
To get up before a crowd and tear your own dignity to shreds doesn't make you righteous, it makes you masochistic. A slave to the voices in your head.
I've never understood the solipsism of these people.
The idea that we are wretched pieces of gunk that deserve to rot forever in an eternal lake of fire... but the entire universe was made super special just for us!
Combine this with the knowledge that so many earlier gods share the EXACT same story as Jesus.
She is delivered from the power of sin not by her efforts but by those of Christ. Christ die for sinner and their sin past present and future if they truly turn away from sin and truly believe the Gospel. All this is revealed in a new heart, good fruits and the following of God's commands (not perfectly but willingly)
No, poor YOU... It's sad and Ironic that you think that if someone is a Christian, they are not thinking for themselves. They have to think the way YOU think, THEN you say they are thinking for themself. That is so stupid
Funny. Sentience is one of those things that evolution can not explain how it came to be. Could the chair you sit on, even given 150 billion years, ever become sentient without some external Intelligence acting upon it? No way. The fact that you are sentient is evidence that a superior intelligence must exist.
Again your are wrong. There is strong evidence of how sentience came to be, and it came from an evolutionary standpoint. Many animals have shown some degree of sentience as well. You using a non-living object as a possibility of sentience shows only an appeal to ridicule. Nice try.
So you think because she is a christian she's not thinking for her self? How do you explain what you get your views from? By the way can you tell me if the is such a thing as wind? How do you know? You can't see wind, but you see the effects of what it is doing. But yet it is unseen. Keep searching truth.. May God remove the scales from your eyes. Look up Joel Rosenburg and tell me if God's word is not reveling itself as it said it would. Watch Paul Washer....
[So you think because she is a christian she's not thinking for herself?]
Because she's an evangelical, her own identity has been compromised.
[How do you explain what you get your views from?]
From experience, from the gathering of knowledge and the synthesis of it.
BTW, that "Wind argument" is severely flawed and has been demonstrated as a canned response. How am I supposed to know if you're still an individual if you parrot the words of others?
Mhhh, how is it that you have gotten your "flawed" answer? You will know there is a God when you die, repent and believe, before it is everlasting to late!
I have no fear of a fictitious character. Your threat is quite frankly nothing more than another clichee used by evangelicals. If you run a search for "Christian Clichees" you will find a list of all that you've said to me, and that site is several years old. Like I said, how do I know if you are an individual, if you are just copy and pasting the words of others?
Dude, tell me why you think she doesn't really believe what she is saying.. Not everyone thinks like you. God is real, and if you don't repent and trust the savior, you will find out the hard way.
you have to beileve then you must confess to be saved

So, is she like, sin free? Not sinning anymore, not making mistakes or anything?
