the psp slim is the easiest to make a Pandora you just open it up i just ran my finger nail back and forth down the sides find the trace on the circuit board cut it with a razor blade and put the battery back together done ..then to turn it back to a normal battery just fill in the trace you cut with pencil lead no solder need it

I did mine the hard way around, it wasn't really hard, I hard modded the psp fat battery and it works awesomely, although I think I should've bought this tool battery instead.

@R3n3s0nyk1ll No, the tool battery will not work as a normal battery. It will only allow you to go into admin mode.

hi, i have the psp slim 2001, i'm having troubles with the psp grader whenever i click create pandora stick it says EBOOT can not be found please reload and try again. i've tried downloading it from a few websites and it always tells me that. other sites also said to download another .rar file with it and run it through to "load 5.00 official eboot" button but that isn't working either. thank you for any help or advice you can give

Yeah, you need to dl the file. It's been a long time since I hacked one of these, and I don't remember where I got the file from. Try posting in the pspslimhacks forum, they should be able to help you out if the links to the file are broken. Good luck.

hi, I have a psp slim 2000, silver also, I have tried and Tried to put N64 Emulator on the psp but have failed, Is there a certain website to get the emulator and the Roms? Also where did you get the Atari Emulator at? Does the Firmware make a difference? Thank You

The N64 emulators aren't that functional - the N64 specs more or less max out what the PSP is capable of.

You use the Tool Battery only for the install of CFW. After the install is done, you switch back to using your regular battery.

you can't hack the psp blue madden. because i what psp 2000 so i hack it. i was about to get blue madden psp but now you said that the madden psp cant be hack. so i should get black or the psp color you got.

50% of the blue ones can be hacked.  Most of the black ones can't be hacked. But all of them might be able to be hacked with ChickHen.

Ha Ha I got my pandora battery for 6 bucks and it worked perfectlly. I got it off amazon. You spent way too much money on that thing.

This video was made back when a Pandora battery was necessary to install CFW.

Since the Pandora battery is now obsolete with the advent of the chickhen installer, I do believe you got ripped off paying $6 for a battery you no longer need to install CFW.

I made this video before chickHen was released. Otherwise I probably would have tried that first. If chickHen doesn't work or you don't like it, you could always buy a pandora. The pandora does come in handy though as you can use it to unbrick a PSP.

what is a tool battery what makes it special or different from normal batteries?

PSP batteries are more than just batteries if you were to actually crack open the case the battery comes in. There is a motherboard inside the battery case with a few microchips. The tool battery has a different configuration on the circuit board of the battery than the regular battery. This different configuration allows you to put the PSP into service/admin mode instead of normal operation mode. It's just a way to attempt to prevent your average Joe from screwing with the OS of the unit.

thanks for letting me know that because i have a slight problem when my psp is hooked up to the charger it works but when i disconect it it turns off but it is showing that a battery is connected and will tell me how charged it is but wont tell me its life span does that mean my psp is broken or just the battery

dont buy one just do the easy way, get reg. battery and cut the wire inside to pandorize the battery then to turn it back reg. just retrace the line/wire with a pencil.

Yeah, mine is a 2001 but I was talking about the 2000 series (as in 200x). Whatever continent your particular model was made for sale in, it still has the choice of the same 3 motherboards as all the others in the 2000 series.

Make sure you check off (or click, i forget) to download 5.00 or something along those lines. Also, check off format memory stick. Then click make pandora stick. You don't need a tool battery for making the mms, but you need it to flash the cfw onto the psp from the mms.

The program is in a zipped file. You need winzip to unzip it.

It just has more functionality (more bugs worked out).  To upgrade, dl the update and follow the instructions. You put the file in the psp as if it's a game, then open it like a game and it does it's thing.

Well, I suppose it's possible to fuck it up if you have no idea what you are doing because in essence you are reflashing the internal memory with a new OS. If you did do it wrong then you could brick your PSP. So I guess my advice is that if you aren't that good with computers, you probably shouldn't attempt to hack a computer.

The battery in a PSP is actually a little more than justa battery. If you open it up there is a circuit board attached to it with a few chips. The tool battery's board/chips are hardwired to perform different tasks than the regular battery, like put the OS of the PSP into an admin mode.

If you know what firmware it came with originally, then anything under 4 is hackable. Otherwise you need to check the serial number of the unit.
