I ended up trading it for a nice firebird I found on craigslist.

The truck was awesome but horrible on gas and I didn't use it for work enough to justify keeping it as my only vehicle. I do miss it though. I will hopefully get another truck when I have enough $ for 2 rides...

@benmhess yeah. i hear ya'. i was driving a 2005 Z71 1500 but, it was getting 13 city.. then i bought a 2002 Blazer.. i was getting 15mpg.. now, i'm looking for another car. ha something that get's decent MPG I hope.. but good luck with finding another ride.

@willymywonka with the 35's and 3.55 gears it was about 11-12mpg average. I had my fun with it and now drive a Nissan Maxima. The gas mileage was breaking my bank.

@willymywonka it was always mixed driving so not really sure. It's probably more like 15-16 if just cruising on the highway on longer trips but that's just a guess. It was always about 1800-2000 rpm at about 70mph flat road.

@benmhess i have a 97 4x2 and you can fit 32's the 4x4 version stock has a 2" lift on it so you might get away with 33's or 35's try and see

if i do a 3" lift on my 98' ram with the 5.2L 3.55 gears, will i have to change the gear ratio?

im running 32" cooper STT's with 18" rims right now and would like to keep them as i just bougth them lol

You should be fine with those size tires (that's how mine's set up now) but if you plan on going 33" or bigger I would recommend 4:56 gears based on how mine drove with 35's.

A couple shops quoted me around $1600 or more to swap out front and rear gears...

@benmhess Then you have to consider that the axels are going to be the weak spot ,so if your going to swap out the gears for $1600. you could just get a set of dana 60's for $1000. on craigslist...either way have fun with it...

im thinking of a 6" lift on mine, but i JUST bought some 18" rims and 32" cooper STT tires for it, those tires will look way to small with a 6" lift wont they?

@snoop6604 lol i got a 6in bds lift on my 01 and i only got 35s btw i also have a 3in body lift to for total of 9.. and yet the 35's look fine, but i do have a set of 38x15x16 micky t's but there balder then my 35 mud terrains. your truck should look fine with 32's

Yea my 97 has a 3 in lift and 33 to 35's on it and it rubs a bit when I turn hard, but mostly when I'm turning, and backing up at the same time.
