i have a black birdd i think?? its alll black even its beak. well anyways i have had it 3 weeks it lives off of dog food and fruit........ i want to have it stay around ma yard when it grows up soo i dont want to give it away to some one idk. but how do i get it to eat on its ownn?? like pick up the food because it wont.. its wings are also missing alot of feaathers but they still work.. he just cant flyyy :P. help plz..

@TheShoeboxkid If you can see blood you need to take it to a vet or animal shelter, same if you think it has a broken leg or wing.

Do you know what type of bird it is, or what it looks like, Please tell me so I can tell you what it need if it is not a black bird or like one.

@TheShoeboxkid Well the first thing you need to do is keep it in a warm place, best in a little box (like a nest) with some shredded tissues or soft martial. Then you need to put it in a quiet place for a hour or two, then you can try give it some water with a dropper or a teaspoon but only a little bit at a time or it could drown. You NEED to look around sometimes the parents are still around.

@TheShoeboxkid If you have not see or herd the parent after about five to six hours or if before this time you think the bird needs food or water take it in side, remember only if you real believe it needs your help and the parents are not coming back for it.

Then you can get some minced chicken or beef meat make it in to little balls, give the bird them one at a time and about five every hour to an hour and a ½ apart, every couple of hours give it a little water.

@TheShoeboxkid Make shaw you keep the bird really warm you can do this with a heat light if you have one, or place it in a warm room in a little box with the tissues martial with some martial about as big as a hanky on top of it to help keep in the warmth.

@TheShoeboxkid The first three days is when it is most likely to died, if it makes it parts the first week it should make it and should be able to be realest. I have the same cage!!!!!! But I have my pet rats in it:/ I have my black bird in a lil bit smaller cage, he looks just like that one :P I call him Vulture

@RaccoonKit When they are on perches and you look at their beaks from the front they look like a vulture and a bit evil, in a cute way….Do you know if the bird you have is a boy or are you just calling it a boy until it’s big enough to tell? I ‘m just asking this because 4 out of 5 of the birds I have looked after were girls.
