That could be. But I'm not sure when this episode was recorded in the studio, and I read that the first time Northern Calloway/David had an issue with mental health was in September of 1980. I'm thinking maybe the date this episode was taped would confirm whether or not it was recorded before David left temporarily.

I did the calculations here, but given the fact that episode 1446 aired on November 24, 1980; the earliest this episode could've aired was February 3, 1981. I had to use pad and pencil to figure that one out. Muppet Wiki has it down as 1980, (when it's recorded rather than aired) which is wrong if they if it was AIRED then.
