@capitalflush really? and didn't you mistake this for laggania which is thought (=one of the theories is) to be a plankton feeder? it was suprificially similar to anomalocaris, so i'm just asking. i've never read anything about anomalocaris not being predatory. ;-)
@stuchly1 by the way, the critter at 1:101:31 and 3:03 is laggania cambria actually;-) 1:42 seems to be laggania as well, but not very precisely reconstructed ;-)
there are several pics of it eating a trilobite but it was recently figured out that it was actualy impossible for him to do so. go to msn and search it.
to be honest it,almost reminded me of,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,biological armoring?or maybe about the way modern "civilized"people COLDLY supress thier emotions,thier true feelings,i think thats it, as for irony,i dont really see yet how its ironic,if you were endorsing evolution in this video it would but ironic say,since ur not i dont see how its ironic,though some of the photos do look phaked,not the picture but,well how could it take for sevral years for scientists to "Notice" the feather lines on
It might take a long time, I have a lot of studying to do lately, and haven't had time to work on artwork or the actual vid. But I am happy that you like it and are enthusiastic for the vid. I'll try to do it as soon as possible.

moomoocow488 1 year ago
@capitalflush seriously scientists overrate bite force. but when it comes to a shrimp, that's pretty damn significant.
HEATofEAST92 1 year ago
@capitalflush
it was based on the observation that anomalocaris's cuticle was not as strong as other arthropods...
however, jellyfish, cephalopods, some large worms etc are not strongly armoured either, yet they still do quite well as predators :)

@mynickle To be honest, I didn't know that it had religious overtones, but now that you mention it, I guess this tribute has a bit of irony in it.

No, Lela, you cannot have one as a pet. They don't exist anymore. But, I'll buy you a pony if you stop asking.

"without doupt the strangest predator to ever live" SOME MODERN PREDATORS ARE WAY WEIRDER THAN ANOMALOCARIS.

very few are, actually, because we're so used to the Modern Fauna. The Paleozoic Fauna is far stranger.

Pretty good there, the pic at 2:17 - it reminds me of this exhibit at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History - I've seen it twice now.
BTW: Genus names are always capitalized, and species names are always lowercase. ;)
I love Evanescence, too.
