  • Is soldering absolutely necessary? Because if that's the case it might be cheaper to get a 360 pad...

  • @Adu767 you can solder or (if you can find them) get small wire crimps for each wire but i would recommend a soldering iron. and last i checked a 360 pad is still sorta pricey. you can get an original xbox controller for like 5-10 bucks, a soldering iron is like that if not cheaper, and flux core solder can be bought at many dollar stores (for a dollar). u can use electrical tape if you want to cover and insulate all the wires afterwards, i just use shrink tubing as it is my preference.

  • @daiatlus79 and the 'twist & tape' method is soooo bad and if you paid attention to my video, i explain why.....

  • yeeaaah thats a bad ass song /..... bump that shit

  • @khaoz209 which one? there are three songs i use and list lol

  • plz how to make it work on win 7!!

  • @mohcinebouhya make sure to right click the installation file, go to properties, click the compatibility tab, and select windows xp service pack 3.

  • @daiatlus79 the antivirus ask me if i want to scan F..something and that's all

i really need your help i did what you said

    but still nothing

would you please explaine to me step by step?

    thank you very much!

  • @mohcinebouhya have the antivirus make an acception (the drivers are not 'signed' by windows 7, so the antivirus may think they are malicious. download the driver install file. right click it, go to properties, in the new window, click the compatibility tab, and select windows xp service pack 3 (if that has no effect for installing it, try service pack 2), and then click apply and ok. then install as you would usually, but make sure to right click and select run as administrator.

  • i need a program for it to work on window 7 64 bit can any one help

  • @Thebestmittlestat you have to google the 64-bit drivers. i had to. they arent on the site (i just got a 64 bit pc for xmas) and when you find the drivers, install them in Windows XP Service Pack 2 mode if you use 7,and make sure you install them as Admin!

  • Would regular tape suffice? I don't have any electrical tape or heatshrink lying around.

  • @SuperBromander you can go to most any dollar store or even a corner store and get electrical tape. i dont recommend normal tape as it isnt as flexible as electrical tape. it would be like using a rock for a hammer:sure it would get the job done, but it runs the risk of looking crude and even could do some damage!

  • i hope this is a joke

  • @MyLifeStoryIsHere u hope what is a joke? and if you mean the controller mod, no it isnt. it works.

  • from what i can tell, no. i havent looked into it.

  • is there anyway u can use an orginal xbox contoller on a xbox 360?

  • do you know if there is there a newer driver version for windows 7 available?

  • @KingSuperFart what is on their website is what's there. they are the developers of the drivers.

  • i put this together exactly like he did and my computer (64-bit Vista home premium) thinks its a usb mass storage device, i installed the drivers like 2 times and it doesnt fix anything, can someone help me out?

  • @superflip231 did you install the drivers before plugging it in???

  • @daiatlus79 yes i did

  • @superflip231 did you install them before or after you plugged it in?

  • @daiatlus79 before, and i uninstalled them and unplugged the controller, and tried it again and it still didnt work

  • @superflip231 right click the installation file, go to properties, then compatibility, then try installing under win xp service pack 3

  • @daiatlus79 after scouring some forums and trying some different drivers and installs i dont think itll work with vista service pack 2

  • @superflip231 xp.... not vista... you can run programs in other version modes under vista/7....

  • @daiatlus79 yeah i know, i tried what you said, but im running 64 bit sp2 vista, and im trying it again just to make sure, but after reading some forums alot of people have been having the same problems as me

  • @superflip231 just try different combos of compatibility modes. it may work.

  • @daiatlus79 ill try it, thanks for all your help, and great video btw

  • @superflip231 well thank you i am here to help

  • Hey Dude, if I took, say, a female end USB connector and soldered it to the male end of the connector of the port that Xbox1 controllers, could I plug in any controller or plug the S-Type controller to the Xbox1 again? Cheers

  • Will this work on games like team fortress2? or do i have to do it with a real wired xbox controller?

  • @acr2121 if you install a program like xpadder which allows you to keymap keyboard and mouse buttons/gestures to the controller, i don't see why you cant use it for Team Fortress 2

  • Also: Will it work with epsxe 1.70 ?

  • @MakoRuu if its a pc emulator for psx then sure it should.

  • Good tutorial, but next time instead of annoying SNES songs you could have just spoken your instructions.

  • @MakoRuu actually not a single one of these songs are from the SNES, they are from the Gameboy, NES, and Nintendo 64

  • @cournelcool wireless 360?

  • can it work 4 the xbox 360?

  • @TheGameCake if you mean will the modded controller work on the 360, no it wont. please check previous comments.

  • Now I have question for you. Lets say I have an xbox memory card. I mod my controller like you did. Instead of using it for pc uses, can I put XBMC on it and install it that way on my orginal xbox? Will my PC read my xbox memory card on my computer as well?

  • @BRS720 I also Want to know that!

  • @BRS720 it will read it if you install Xplorer 360.

  • this works, if i wanna play xbox 360 with the xbox controller ?

  • @ZeroFingerboards this will not work with your 360 if that is what you mean. but if you mean doin this with a 360 controller plugged into your computer, sure, the drivers will work with that as well. but i am sure if you have windows 7 it will identify your 360 controller when you plug it in (as with any official microsoft hardware, except the original xbox controller, as that is not supported by windows. hence Redcl0uds drivers)

  • yo man i need some help it not reading my controller i already installed the program

  • @dislocalboy96793 means your wiring may be wrong. if it is registering the controller as an unknown usb device, try reinstalling the program. if you are using Windows 7/Vista, try installing in Windows XP Service Pack 2 mode (right click the installation file, go to properties, click the compatibility tab, and select Windows XP Service Pack 2 or 3).

  • you would spend more money on buying the supplies than for any actual controller....

  • @MrDragonforce350 already had the controller. the supplies cost me maybe 5 bucks. i already had most of it on hand. and i like how it feels.

  • @daiatlus79 nice :) i used a knife, and an old itunes cord ^_^ it works nice, but the wires get in teh way if it's not taped down... lol

  • @MrDragonforce350 did you solder it? and well electrical tape is an alternative to shrink tubing (i do not recommend scotch or masking tape as they are substandard and can cause more issues).

  • Thank you!!!

  • MUTE.

  • Thanks dude, needed a refresher on how to do this =D. Just modded another one for a friend =3

  • @Ryukujinishi anytime !!!! thanks!

  • question will it work on windows 7? the drivers ? an if theres a way to make it work like turning somthing off like iv been hearing something about a vag i think somthing along thos lines any help ?

  • @juggalokingofbling right click the install file, then go to properties. then the compatabilty tab. then select Windows XP service pack 2 or 3. should install normally

  • is possible to do this without soldering iron?

  • @SuperKarol97 i would not recommend it. soldering provides the best connection. hands down. and a soldering iron is dirt cheap now (get them in dollar stores for like 8 bucks)

  • awesome song :D

  • @dacasman which one? lol

  • @daiatlus79 the first : )

  • @dacasman they are listed in sequence in the description so you can pick them out from the Newgrounds Audio Portal

  • what version is the best for windows xp 2001

  • @MYDRAGGIN84 version of driver? the latest one should work for you without issue in XP

  • can i do this and still keep the break away part and set it up for both xbox and pc as well action replay so i can send stuff to my memory card etc.I got everything i need to do this i just want to know can i still keep the yellow wire to play xbox

  • @MYDRAGGIN84 i dont know, i never tried. do a search for kiwidoggie online. he shows how to do this and keep both the xbox and usb plug on it at the same time

  • Could u also use this to use the xbox controller on your 360?

  • @Shrice67 well the wireless ones need a bluetooth receiver, usually made by microsoft, or connected to the computers bluetooth receiver. as for the wired 360 controllers, you can just plug them in. windows 7 autorecognizes them as they are a microsoft product. but if you dont have win 7 then the installation file i provide the link to will work

  • where u get ur controller.. i can only find blue and red ones like that but i dont want them

  • @thomass9095 took it from someone as payment for a few dvd's that he lost which i owned... i think he sold them for drugs.. so i took that and the game Splinter Cell so i could mod my xbox.

  • hey, nice vid. Could you list the song names in the discription, or give links because I am a Mario Mix music person myself and it would be very much appritiated.

  • @SuperMario1005 they are listed.. and you can search them in Newgrounds audio portal

  • why when i open start and type setup utility i cant move nothing with the controller

  • @MRT0BY510 you mean you cant find anything when you search for it?

  • @daiatlus79 no i mean that the setup does come up but i cant move nothing with the controller,,the wods r grey which means dat i cant move nothing

  • @MRT0BY510 it means that it may not have installed right. what version of windows are you using?

  • Won't work i did everyting u did

  • @akomissmo2 you sure you never skipped anything? think the cord could be faulty? cause this works usually without issue.....

  • @daiatlus79 i did evrything :( i didnt skip but till won't work it said "Unknown Device" when i plugged it in, i also downloaded XBCD latest Version

  • @akomissmo2 so its a standard xbox1 controller, and not some odd third party one.. and as well all the wires follow the color coding?

  • @daiatlus79 All wires go to the following Color and i have the same xbox controller tat many use (idk if its standard or idk i just ad my xbox and i used my cousins old xbox controller)

  • @akomissmo2 i dont know what to tell you, other than maybe the cord you used may be defective or broken

  • does it need flux?

  • @goldedrago i would rather use flux than flux core. its a lot better for the solder to bond to the parts. using a flux core solder i find is kinda useless. its like using a shampoo and conditioner in one. its not practical when you are trying to accomplish something using the proper steps. flux's job is to clean the area that is being soldered and then that allows the solder to stick better for the metal to metal contact. its not clumpy or balled up

  • @daiatlus79 thanks but i was just wanted to know do you need flux?my dad is really good so i wont need help.but do i need it?thanks!

  • @goldedrago well if he can do it with flux core solder then go ahead.. but some form of flux will be needed to make for nice soldering. with no flux at all there will be no bond to the wires. the solder will come across pretty clumpy and give a bad joint.

  • @daiatlus79 ok,thanks alot!

  • @goldedrago welcome!

  • man i open my hole controller so i can do this and i saw yours i wish i would ve seen ur vidoe 1st but it works

  • Respond to this video... Will you be able to transfer Save Data to your MemoryCard from your PC if you Mod your Controller like this?

  • @mattskell yes as long as you have a program like ACtion Replay or Xplorer 360

  • @daiatlus79 Ive got theXploer360 but I'm having trouble getting it to read my Memory Card, I installed the Driver that I needed for the Controller but whenever I go to open my MemCard in Xploer360 it just says "Could not find FATX Drive to open" what am I doing wrong?

  • @mattskell try action replay... easy enough to find with a google search

  • hey man great vid i just did your mod to plug in a usb in to the controller, little problem tho maybe u could help me out. i plug it in the light goes on but then when i go to the memory blade, the screen flashes and makes a bleep bleep sound, annoying as hell. console remains working fine once i exit the mem tab but won't recognize the usb stick. using a 2gb kingston data traveller. really wanna get XBMC on it so your help would be awesome

  • @ElliottPodo memory blade? you using it on a 360? if so you cannot install XBMC on a 360.

  • Thanks for using my music man!!! ^^

im glad you dig my mix!

    ~Dj Sonik

  • @TheDjSonik its a great mix.. i am glad a lot of people are supporting the music at the Audio Portal.. i always stop by there!

  • u can use ps3 controllers on your pc with a blutooth adaptor since ps3 and wii controllers are both blutooth. just need to find drivers for em or accually there is a game controller converter i have to plug in last gen consoles such as ps2 game cude and xbox and i have the drvers disk somewhere lol. but ya its still a great vid makes me wanna tear my shit apart now..

  • can you play gears of war with this controller?

  • @bo7mod2009 if its for PC, sure. you would just map out the key assignments in the settings. thats what i did for Halo for Windows. works like a charm.

  • If I had multiple modded Xbox controllers with the drivers installed plugged to my PC and playing games with it using emulators (Project64 is what i use) can the drivers seperate the different controller ports as multiple detected? The problem I don't want to find out later on is that all the controllers control Port 1 if I were to play Super Smash Bros.

  • @jjamendoza i believe as long as the emulator can support it, that it should work

  • DUDE, THANK YOU! :D

  • can u do this for a ps2 controller? if yes post a video please thanks

  • @bossco24 from what i can tell.. the way this is done.. no. this is possible to do with the Xbox controller due to it being a Usb Device. from what i know, the PS2 comtroller is not USB.. probably some weird format of Serial. as well, you CAN buy adapters that allow you to use a PS2 controller with a PC.. either through its Serial or USB ports.

  • would doing this make the controller compatible with the xbox 360

  • @haloknight3 no

  • it works, i love you know, instead of shrink tubing i used electrical tape, i also used it top seperate wires from each other instead of tht rubber shit, but it works great! thanks bro

  • holy shit this works bro, its actually easier then it sounds, btw instead of using the rubber things to seperate he wires from each other, i used electrical tape, and i used it instead of shrink tubing and all tht, it works great! thanks for the video :D

  • yes it fuckin worked! thanks!

  • @Ashtear420 ok waht operating system are you running.. as well i would need to know the error code you are getting...

  • Comment removed

  • I have a Maximo Gaming Concepts Controller But INF says it won't work, I believe i need the PID & VID for this controller but im not sure. Is there a workaround for such controllers ? Thanks

  • @southpaw1g if its USB then it should correspond to the xbox interface the same way. so it should work. remember: the xbox is a computer in consoles clothing, meaning those controller ports are actually USB 1.1 ports

  • does this work for a ps2 controller?

  • @EggoFreak no.

  • @daiatlus79 Damn you were late lol.

  • ok i did this im restarting now i think i did everything right. i hope! ill comment once i have restarted

  • fingers crossed for you!

  • so i have windows 7 32 bit... i got the wires hooked up right but it says its an unknown device and idk what to do from there... im kinda stuck lol

  • did you install the redcl0ud's drivers in the description? i do not know if they are Windows 7 compatible... try uninstalling.. and before reinstalling, right click the installation file, go to properties, click the compatibility tab, then select Windows XP Service Pack 2 mode...

  • thanx guys, but i had to have my buddy rig one up for me. it works great for both my xbox and pc.

  • no prob man :D

  • yes i FOUND HEHEHEH :)

    NICE VID MAN

  • tanks!!! lol

  • hey im sary aboth that it works now and im wondering wich program i have to use i dont know what kin my computer is all i know is that it is WINDOWS XP ..

    PLEASE HELP

  • read the description!!!!! all the information is there!!!! the program you need is there!!!! in the links!!!! RED CL0UD!!!!

  • IT DOESNT WORK

  • then you did it wrong! cause everyone else who has tried it ... it worked for them... using an official xbox controller or third party? and what about your cable that you are splicing?

  • Can you show a video to make a xbox controller still be for the actual system and wire a usb to it? (like a two in one thing?) my friend made one but he confused me on how its done.

  • @mlwy45 just do the same but just expose the wires on the controller so can make a 3-way splice between usb, xbox, and xboxcontroller

  • if you are talking about putting a usb port in your controller i have done that too... search it on instructables (dot) com. jsut search 'original xbox controller memory card slot usb conversion'. i have a thumbdrive working off mine. as well kiwidoggie shows how to make a two in one controller to be able to go back and forth between systems

  • Would this procedure work on SNES Controllers? I have some old controllers.

  • you would have to install a microcontroller in the SNES controller... you can get the conversion kits for cheap online.. google it!

  • Yes I seen the conversion kits, I just figured maybe you can splt the wires, Since I have all the parts needed already. Thanks for your reply!

  • now i think if you have a serial port there is a way of splicing the wires and adding a diode for using the controller via the serial port... see the xbox controller is usb.. just a proprietary usb.. the SNES controller was made LONG before the concept of usb came along... so it cant be just a simple splice and driver install

  • Yes there is a method with a serial port, I have seen the schematics. It looks like a bit of work and then you need to use the serial port on your pc. I have seen the already modified usb controllers also, They are $17.00 - $25.00 each. The kits are about $17.00 or so. Almost worth buying the pre-made ones I guess. No easy way unless I use a different controller such as ps1 with the usb adaptor.

  • with the PS1 controller you can jsut buy an adapter for it.. but i think you can rig up something too.. ever check out the site i have written in the description? Instructables?

  • Yes, The adaptors for the ps1 are cheap. I have checked Instructables, Very nice site.

  • you would be getting into custom drivers there.. and as well you would need a voltage detector... cause there are 4 wires needed

+, D+, D-, and ground.. so you would have to find out the wiring order

  • ... Is there ANY way to conect a Usb Wheel into the original xbox????

    PLEASE RESPOND

  • imho if the xbox is as close to a pc as it is... then no... it would have to be madcatz or microsoft cause of the drivers the xbox has in its system files... it may work on a hacked xbox

  • Whats the name of this song i cant remember it but it sounds so familiar

  • all songs are listed in the description. search them on the audio portal on newgrounds!

  • it's possible on windows 7 (64 BITS)?

    I need help!

  • well i do not have an AMD based system so i do not know but i assume that is does... you can even run the controller under linux.. so if your computer has usb then it should recognize it no matter the architecture of your setup... it will even run on the old USB 1.1 setup!

  • since like no1 at all uses a normal xbox anymore its sorta hard to find the splintercell exploit so if you know were a ligit one is plz tell me

  • legit what? exploit or legit xbox? the splinter cell game can be found on most used gaming sites for like 5 bucks.. and contrary to what others say ALL versions of Splinter Cell work.. i did mine with a copy of the Platnium Hits Version

  • wow its nice

  • uh i have a usb cable with a yellow wire but no green one its a brow, yellow, white,nd red do i still nix the yellow wire nd put green to yellow or use another cable

  • on a regular usb sometimes yellow is substituted for green and brown for black. if your controller is unresponsive, swap them around

  • thanks that helps alot nd is it necessary to solder them together

  • ummm well you CAN buy whats called cold solder... its in a tube at many hardware stores... it takes the place of regular heated solder (like silver conductive epoxy) ... i do NOT recommend the simple 'twist-n-tape' method.. the adhesives in the tape can seep into the twists and then screw with the contacts... soldering cold or hot will alleviate all these problems and make for better contact

  • Thank you so much for your tutorial. And nice job with the mod, it looks like it was just made like that. I've seen other mods where they just tape it together, but you really did take the extra steps to make it look professional. I commend you on your craftsmanship.

  • well thank you.. i thought i would show wheat extra time and effort would yield! A wise man once said: If you are going to do a job, do it right the first time! I see people on here just twist and tape their controllers, and I did not like the look of it. the connections would probably wear out over time and then they would have to do it again all over. This is what you do when you look to have a good job. check out my other tutorials in the links i have!

  • Yes, I can tell that you take pride in your work. Good job.

  • dose that controller work on the 360?

  • not to my knowledge... the controller lacks certain things like the home button and such... and from what i read some button assignments are swapped... the B&W buttons are now the bumpers, etc.

  • Great vid.

  • thanks... i got another one in the works... i just need to pick up my supplies! all i will say is that it is a Wi Fi Antenna unlike any other!

  • hey man gotta give props.. but i seen some on here doing this with no real demo on how to properly solder so i thought i would show the kiddies how to properly solder to ensure a nice clean join with no globby finish... cause twisting wires together then taping them, as well as using the black tape over shink wrap is a pet peeve.. i wanted this to look a little more permenant

  • Yee :)
