Irish and Scottish Gaelic are Goidelic linguistic roots. Brythonic and Goidelic are the linguistic branches of Celtic. Anglo-Saxon-Jute (English) = Germanic Tribes, which is Teutonic and quite alien to these isles when the last ten thousand years are considered. A lot of English people support Scottish Independence, and to be honest the oil isn't really a factor for us, North Sea Oil accounts for less than 1.5% of GDP and less than 2% of taxes, it's becoming ever more expensive to extract and clean up costs may be substanstial.
