As a teenager I listened to the stern show and I remember hearing Carver and his "Wake up white people" plea, at the time I thought it strange hearing someone talk about JEWS and niggers and thought nothing more than we're a free country to say whatever, even unpopular speech and I knew this was unpopular speech.
