Seems that the majority think that Give Yourself A Hand is the Dummies' worst album of their career. Can't comment on that, since I never heard the album, but I think this song is MUCH better than MMM MMM MMM MMM, at least.
I remember the first time I heard this song and realized that the one guy was singing both parts and I found that disappointing. We saw them when I was too young to really remember, but the whole hypnotic factor they had going for them was the unique blend of the vocals. This was where they lost that.
Perfect band. God i wish they would make a huge come back and take over radio. I love crash test dummies. probably the most under rated band of all time.
Heard this song for the first time driving home from out of state in the middle of a snow/ice storm... it gave the whole event a pretty out-of-this-world feeling. Love this song!
@sithren Gonna have to disagree wtih you. Not sure why your even watching the video if you dont like the band.... and I skimmed through your favorites, and ofcourse you dont like crash test dummies. Seems kind of stupid for you to make such redundant comments.
I like this song, but Brad Roberts looks like Brendan Fraser with his haircut. And this strangely reminds me of Willy Wonka, but the bad movie of Willy Wonka with Johnny Depp in it.
well thanks for posting this. I dl and store it in my song folder, another freebie! this song is so innovative with the bongos and the whispering talk and then bringing in the vocals and synthesizers....
Very creative video - wonder who came up with the "robot" concept? As a kid, I had suspected that a few people around me may be robots ... this vid really brings the thought to another level.
the last time i heard this song must have been like roughly 10 yrs ago. It was actually played quite a bit back then though. As a kid, I always mistaken it for Dave Matthews Band. Just this song. Really is the same kind of vibe. i don`t recall a hit from these guys after this. quite sad
they actually had quite a few hits before this song. this was pretty much the last of their mainstream success. check out mmm mmm mmm or their version of the ballad of peter pumpkinhead.
Sounds like Duke Nukem sang this song. I remember this song being popular when I was young...never really liked it, and I liked other more popular Crash Test Dummies songs. Didn't even know this song was by them until now.
Great band but like most people and acts out of Winnipeg they self-destructed once success was at hand. Definitely check out their first album The Ghosts that Haunt Me.
oh my god when i was five years old i hear this song, and i just remembered the line "who put the ____ in the ____ house? you did baby" and now, sixteen years later, i have found the song!
@morefishscale Oh music like this is still being made, it's just that you have to dig to find it beneath the see of shiny, over-produced and totally soulless pop records we're getting right now. Beck for example, sounds like this, as do the Mojave 3.
