It was a honor to meet this sweet veteran today, Memorial Day 2011, in Little Tokyo. We also me veteran, George, at the "Go for Broke" monument. I asked him what happened to the U.S. flag. He said that is was too much trouble to put the flag up and down everyday because the light was broken and the flag can't be flown at night w/o a light. If I lived in L.A., I would volunteer to put the flag up for these guys. Someone please fix the light. They served our country, its time we serve them.
