  • thats was not lufthansa

  • Why does the blinds have to be open during landings and takeoffs?

  • @ChampNike so that passengers can see anything that is on the aircraft's way and can warn the cabin staff about it. :] any dangers etc. can be seen and passengers can suddenly point that out to the cabin staff

  • @johnnyisachampion Actually, it's only to help the crew be aware in case of a wing or engine fire, since such fires would likely get the attention of passengers. Passengers aren't likely to notice things otherwise which would constitute a danger as they don't know what the tell tale signs to look for are.

  • what

  • great safety video

  • Ihate you

  • I´am wondering about why the video is only in english language and without undertitles. I mean not every german speaks such a good english to understand all safetyinstructions. So I would like to know, if there are two videos. One in german language and one in english. Otherwise especially older people (50+) will get a major problem in case of emergency. They did not learn english in school. At least Lufthansa is a german airline. They should have a video also in german language I think.

  • hey try to play lady gaga alejandro why listening to this video it sounds more cool

  • during emergencies in air theres no point for any of those things like the life jacket if u crash its over lol

  • 2:08 Wouldn't you laugh if that actually hit her?

  • Wow your lucky to go on one of those planes

  • Wow id love to go on one of those planes

  • sooooo many escape slides!

  • toooo many

  • I see no point in the flight attendants playing pretend with imaginary screens. What's the point? Seems to waste time and serves no purpose.

  • hmmm.. no no smoking?

  • 747- Jumbo a380- Big Mama ;)

  • That's exactly how i'd look if an oxygen mask dropped down infront of me during flight (after taking some valium, that is).

  • what about all the other features the a380 has such as electronic drive by wire back up system

  • My Cousin is taking me on a private trip on Singapore Airlines 380 next week for VIPs.

  • i love the airbus a380 and safety demo

  • i love luxair

  • to be honest im a little dissapointed... the clouds were cool at first but cheezy scerenery overkill and the noises and beeps reminds me of special effects they use on some gay show like "deal or no deal"... i cant believe this is what they came up with for a such a major accomplishment in aviation... it does convey the procedures well, but the in between was cheesey...

  • agree. the sound/visual effect takes too long and annoying

  • I like what you say except for that unnecessary commentary about "gay show". What does that mean, "gay" show?

  • i reckon that was terrible

  • I don't like that safety videos... is bored!!!

  • why isnt there any German voice over? Lufthansa is German right?

  • First in english, then German.

  • Sorry, they say it a line in English then in German.

  • well i dont hear any german

  • there in mahattan

  • this video is the most boring i have seen!! and i've seen air n.z's mainscreen inflight "entertainment"... no wonder nobody watch's them!!! lol

  • Well this is a safety video made by Airbus, nothing special, hence why its plain. Plus it looks similar (clean and simple) just like Air France coz..well Airbus is French lol.

  • why for safety reason all windows blind must remained open during take off and landing?

  • They nedd to remain open so the cabin crew can see if there is a firew or not.

  • how was the a380?

  • this safety video is so plain.

  • looks futuristic to me!

  • wow lols it looks like the airfrance onz

  • What are the safety reasons for putting your window blinds up on take-offs and landings?

  • Hi im a flight attendant. Its for safety. Basically hopefully not sounding too morbid, but during take off or landing if the plane suddenly drops out of sky or crashes, the cabin crew will each run through the cabin usually the first 25 rows to assess the outside situation before opening the emergency exits. Its basically to reduce fatalities and to work out what engine if any are on fire and whats the safest route of escape as not all exits can be opened. Hope that helps.

  • i like this safety video, but i like the virgin atlantic safety video better than this on. soz

  • CONGRATS FOR RIDING IT

before you die, you have to atleast ride it once

  • super uzay cagı ucakları gibi harıka demo tasarımı

  • on wich airline were you?

  • this wasnt an airline. This was just on a regular a380 plane.

  • This was a Lufthansa A380. Read the description.

  • Lounge, depends on airline.

  • Do you know how to spell? You sound like you're in third grade.

  • doesnt singapore have em too_

  • singapore airlines is the only airline so far in the world to have the a380. So far they have 2. 9V-SKA AND 9V-SKB

  • Ever seen the film flight plan it's quite like that lol the plane that is not disappearing children. Does the A380 have a public lounge on board?

  • i like his video very modern and visual aided but i still like the classic ones such as singapore/malaysia/briths airways one

  • hey i was goin to buy this airplane but the delays were to long great job on getting this vid so soon after the aircraft was put into service

  • lufthansa already got their A380s?

  • No this was just a promo flight

  • 16 emergency exits? Goddamn!

  • futuristic like minority report

  • Is this on Singapore Airlines? Where is the Singapore Girl?!?!?

  • wow u must be rich to go on this plane

  • not really, by 2012, almost every airline will have at least one of these. Lufthansa & Qantas are the first to get them.

  • wut about cathay pacific?

  • i dunno. i know that SQ has one already. try checking the airbus website.

  • how?

  • This looks so futuristic!

  • Well you would be paying more money wouldnt you! If you want extra space book Economy plus etc. Plus its better for the enviroment

  • 3-3-3 format SUCKS especially if you are travelling with fat people. God I hate it.

Why cant they stick with a 2-4-2 or 2-3-2. It allows more space.

  • I love Boeing. If it ain't Boeing, it aint going.

  • Well can u name another company other than Boeing ?I guess not either u take boeing planes or don't

  • Boeing does not make the quietest plane on earth, they are just americanly LOUD!!!

  • cheesy as hell! What's with the 'minority report' style graphics!

  • Why can't they make a normal, good looking Safety Video without these stupid pseudo modern beeps?

  • The window blinds must remain open so that the ground staff and fire crew can see that everyone's OK. Remember, sometimes the pilot doesn't tell you if there is an emergency.

  • they look unhappy,i h8 airbus

  • this is one of the most stupid safety demonstration videos that I have ever seen. At least its not badly made though like delta, this one is well made just really stupid...

  • Why window blinds must remain open????? What safety reasons?

  • No reason, its jus so Airbus can show off those beautiful RR Trent 900 engines hehe.

  • In fact blind should be up during take off and landing to allow maximum amount of light into the cabin in case there is to be an emergency evacuation and that the power supply would go off. That's the real main reason.

  • I asked the cabin crew why and they said it was to let the emegency services see you are OK. Your theory is also a good one though!

  • Thx for the comment.Well,it's not MY theory;it's what i've learned during training.all you c the cabin crew doing, except from the seat belt,in preparation for take off and landing is to make sure the way is clear in case of an evacuation.

  • 1.Seats should be in their full upright position.2.tray tables should be retracted as well as foot rests3.all carry on luggage is securely stowed underneath seats or in overhead bins3.Draw all curtains n tie them securely so that they do not obstruct aisles4.Make sure all passengers have taken off their headsets 5.lavatories r well closed6.blinds are up

  • Hmmm well makes sence. Cant really argue with you if you have trained! Sorry :-)

  • Ladies fashions provided by Dr. Evil.

  • I was expecting more from the A380 for their safety instructions. They should look at JAL's safety demonstration.

  • What a cool video. For an aircraft safety video, this one puts excitement into your trip.

  • well i dont se the excitment??

  • the guy looks like a gay

  • He's probably French

  • You must keep the blinds open just in case there is an emergency landing - keeping the blinds open helps to acustomise your eyes to the light. I know this because i gave a letter to 1 of the cabin crew on one of my flights.

  • bloody hell, all them emergancy slides, it's like a water park! hope for a water landing and your sorted!! also this thing is trying to be too modern, it's just silly.

  • i agree with u i mean what is with the whole hand touching thingy ??? its jus random and its not needed

  • They were going for a futuristic style. The A380 is seen as the future of long-haul international air travel. I think the style was pretty fitting.

  • hahah...kind of funny

  • why do you keep the blinds open during takeoff ?

  • To asess the outside conditions faster in case of emergency. This way you know what to expect in case of evacuation.

  • o y see thanks ;)

  • as a flight attendant i can tell yo that we ask that the blinds are open for take off and landing so both passengers and crew can see out. Most emergencies happen at these times if either crew or passengers notice anything out of the ordinary it can be reported. Also the capt may ask us to check outside for verification of damage or conditions and the best vantage point may just be the window with the blinds closed. Its safer and faster if they are open.

  • coool, but it's just some seconds to open a blind soo in 4 seconds nothing too bad is gonna happen ¿no?

  • 2:07. When the oxygen masks drop, I dont think the 2 people even noticed it!

  • yere, your right

  • When it shows the bit where there is people using the emergency slide it looks like a kiddy ride.

  • why do u keep the blinds open during takeoff & landing why does it matter!!!!!

  • it's not difficult to uderstand this.Because in the unlikely event of an evacuation you must have the possibility to watch the external conditions! How would you do that with the blinds closed???

Next time think before posting messages!

  • Sorry to correct you frezzalata, actually its to allow the maximum ammount of outside light to enter the cabin whatever the time of day is i.e. incase the cabin lighting fails in an emergency. Regardless of the conditions outside you will be exiting the aircraft somewhere, checking of conditions is done on a door by door basis either by the cabin crew or by the briefed passengers at the exits.

  • ok during the day but during the night?in case of loss of power emergency lights come on.Plus the outside conditions aren't always clear when watched from the door window which is way smaller than the ones in the cabin

  • If the cabin is filled with smoke, then you need the lights to be able to find your way to the exits -follow the white lights and when you get to the exit, the lights become red

  • It looks futureistic...like the plane itself.

  • In 2040 we're going to look back at this and say what an old plane the A380 is, and how can we possibly fly safely in a POS like this.

  • people need to upload more clips like this. I prefer funnier stuff myself, check out dolphinhump. lostfrog . com , I laughed so hard I got kicked out of class! haha.

  • wounderfull

  • I will be glad when we are on the A380 to see it first hand.

  • Can someone tell me why the windows must be open during take off and landing?

  • Well for a number of reasons really but primarily it is done so as to let outside light into the cabin thus whilst exiting the aircraft in an emergency, you won't experience mmomental blindess. (exactly why in a night landing, the cabin lights are dimmed.) hope this helps.

  • But dosn't that mean, they said DURING take off and landing, not BEFORE AND AFTER take off and landing. Does that mean we have to jump of the plane while its at take of speed? HOLY SHIT! XD

  • When they talk about DURING take-off and landing, off-course the are doing reference to BEFORE and AFTER too, cos if something happens DURING (and they stay alive), they don't have time to open them, so the windows must be open already

  • I am sure its because if in a crash landing u know weather the engines r on fire n safe to leave, but my advise is to get out the plane fire or not

  • This has to be the biggest tard safety video I have seen.

  • I love the dragging and dropping!

  • I agree. It's kind of neat and future-like!

  • Wow, this is the first time I see a manufacturer's safety demo (as opposed to an airline safety demo). Very nicely done!
