  • my boss has an african made lowboy with a turntable on the back for truck trailer recovery, which is distributed by dura-quip in gnowangerup

  • I have seen a picture of a white Ford HN80 hauling triple flat beds trailers and on the front of the Ford there was a sign saying ¨Steve's Haulage¨. Do you know if that Ford belongs to your boss Steve?

  • @svg1995 No mate. There are no FORD's in the stable. None of our trucks have a company name on them, only some of the trailers. He likes to keep a low key

  • the powerstars were built to replace the sline and transtar

  • In the US, Canada and Mexico, safety chains are used when pulling trailers with pintle hooks. It's a safety issue in case the hitch fails and if the highway police catches you without it connected during a truck inspection, then they'll write you up and fine you for not property secured the trailer safely.

  • love the OLD roadcomander

cant beat a UD as a offroad tipper my favorite

  • very informative as always..10/10 mate

  • great video when are you going to do a video on you driving trucks it's been a while.

  • Just come to think of it: correctly, the brand is RINGFEDER.

    (Google: "Ringfeder Corporation - RING-spring®"

    Feder=spring in German)

Though, calling this thing a RINGFEEDER is much more obvious to me too.

(Sorry, I didn't mean to be a nitpicker.)

  • Thanks for showing this Always. I pull doubles here and the comparison in equipment is very interesting.

  • Wow! Beauties! This is pure poetry!

Just love your showing us around!

Our drawbars come with a jack so you crank them to the right hight, no need for two guys to do it as you say. And of course there are angled guides to lead the ring exactly to the hook.

Can you tell me why cabovers are so popular in Australia? A few inches in length is not really a consideration like in Europe, is it?

  • cabovers are so popular for B-Double application where there is a set maximum length of 26m with a bonneted truck it's nearly impossible to get a full 34 pallet trailer combo under length. I would say cabovers are more popular than even conventionals in OZ

  • I see. Thanx.

Thought you had more space where you go with these. Too bad for the drivers, then.

"...full 34 pallet trailer combo...": Are your ordinary skids the same size as ours (4'x3-1/2')?

(You guys too, keep mixing the metric and imperial units like we do up here?)

  • Pretty sure our pallets are 4 ft square.

22 pallets on a 45 footer with a few inches to spare.

12 pallets on the lead trailer.

    62,500 kg all-up for a tri-tri B Double.

  • Thanks.

Decent size load. Worth showing up for work.

  • awesome vid as always buddy, good to see the old bangers still out and about. is the sline a 3300 or a 3600?

  • 3300 mate. it's the newest adittion to the fleet

  • ah cool, dont see too many of them. kinda like the s2670, they must not have made too many of them. the later ones are great trucks to drive, so easy they almost drive themself.

  • excellent vid Troy, Love ur vid's.

    Andrew.

  • Thanx for the vid. nice to see the gear you work with.

  • top video bud, loved the old cab overs.. gotta love the sound of a v8 mack boppin along :) my old man used to drive a road commander, man that thing was a machine all right lol

  • Are there any ' esky cab' Atkinsons up your way? I am sure the Americans, Canadians and Europeans would love to see one , as they are unique to OZ.

  • love his old cab overs

thanks to you & ya mate for showin us around.

  • Has been a while Troy! Thanks for the new vid mate!!

  • Awesome video!

  • it's pretty sharp too!

  • Brilliant video mate. Nice to see some of the kitt you guys use over there, gives me an idea...lol

    Stay safe

    Stu

  • good to hear from you mate =)

  • Great vid as always mate.

  • Fantastic video, i love that International S 3600, black grilles and golden yellow International badge, 1 word, superb. Becoming extremely rare seeing an Atkinson around, there's one of those used as a water tanker at my local tip :D. That Iveco Powerstar looks great!

  • Very informative mate, it is like Disneyland!! Thanks for the look...

  • Very educational. They hook up trailers with pintle hooks? Surely not !

Ringfeders don't forget are European, that's what they hook up their trailers with over there. A 50mm Ringfeder will hold together a 180 tonne quad road train over here, probably not what they had in mind

    originally.

I hope you get a video of the V8 Mack, it would be awesome if it's got decent pipes.

  • Yep pintle hooks with 2 safety chains attached to the draw bars which are all of 3 feet long if your lucky. thay rattle up and down don't know how they hook them up on their own. As far as the old mack goes. She's a beast has some nice sounding pipes....just got to watch for the smoke cloud. Can be seen from 10 miles away.....haha. Hope the EPA don't read this

  • whats with the brush guards on the windows .. ?

  • Stone guards mate. Stops the windows being smashed by flying stones when driving on gravel roads

  • great video
