Come on, that stalling turn around maneuver never happened not even with a Red Tail pilot, and never against a ME262. If you want details get off the computer,out of the house and away from wiki fact sheets and speak to the pilots both veterans and current mustang owners and you may even get to ride in one,it'll make your day and theirs.

ummmm why the movie called red tails? isnt the blue nose was the most owning aircraft at that war do really USA got a silver white red nose P-51? i think they only have a green P-51 and the silver with yellow stripes tail and the blue nose P-51 D mustang?

The film gross over seas is doing really though well world wide and also climbing. This film should do extremely well with its DVD release profits. It's at the top of the list with The Grey,Underworld Awakening. It really wasn't a bad movie to enjoy. Not a major blockbuster but it was actually pretty good.
I watched this movie. And true to form the white man tried to make himself look good. That black pilot (the germans captured) was taken to the german incharge of that base. On his desk he had a book called the flying monkeys printed by the UNITED STATES GOVERMENT. Another thing is The Tuskegee Air Men were not respected the way that movie showed. It was the exact opposite. This movie will give young black people the wrong empression of the 1940s. They should watch the HBO movie about the RTs.

They figured destroy enough of the fighters and the bombers would have clear sailing to the target. didn't quite work the closer you got to Berlin or other major strategic targets, but the doctrine never really changed until the Tuskegee pilots.

Come on, that stalling turn around maneuver never happened not even with a Red Tail pilot, and never against a ME262. And by this time in the war the Luftwaffe wasn't attacking formations in quite this way! They need to re do this film because it makes the Red Tail boys look like twits, and we already know that producer is!

@ChicaWolverina You need to sit down with a few P-51 pilots. Lucas ripped that maneuver from Dogfights and even they are not very in depth about details. If you want details get off the computer,out of the house and away from wiki fact sheets and speak to the pilots both veterans and current mustang owners and you may even get to ride in one,it'll make your day and theirs.

RED TAILS: Current box office gross. Domestic Total as of Feb. 3, 2012: $37,823,000 (Estimate) and climbing. The international gross has not even been included. The film gross over seas is doing really though well world wide and also climbing. This film should do extremely well with its DVD release profits. It's at the top of the list with The Grey,Underworld Awakening. It really wasn't a bad movie to enjoy. Not a major blockbuster but it was actually pretty good.

I watched this movie. And true to form the white man tried to make himself look good. That black pilot (the germans captured) was taken to the german incharge of that base. On his desk he had a book called the flying monkeys printed by the UNITED STATES GOVERMENT. Another thing is The Tuskegee Air Men were not respected the way that movie showed. It was the exact opposite. This movie will give young black people the wrong empression of the 1940s. They should watch the HBO movie about the RTs.

@Hayestobe unfortunately not. USAAF doctrine in WWII dictated air superiority by destroying the enemy fighters as a top priority, escorting bombers and such was of little concern. They figured destroy enough of the fighters and the bombers would have clear sailing to the target. didn't quite work the closer you got to Berlin or other major strategic targets, but the doctrine never really changed until the Tuskegee pilots.

The Me-262 was a minimum of 100 MPH faster than the P-51.
And there was never a kill claim or one inch of gun camera footage to to even suggest that the red tails shot down an Me-262.
You can not re-write history to coddle and apease a hatefull and angry american minority.
There are to many millions of americans still living that see this movie for what it is.

@TheTotenhawk Just the simple fact that the "Swallow" flew 100 MPH faster than the Mustang, doesn't mean they can't be shot down. Many were shot down. And you are simply wrong...the 332nd is recorded with three 262 kills. There is a lot of gun camera footage that is lost.Confirmed kills isn't based upon footage alone. If you knew what you were talking about, you'd know that. Just because you hate black people you shouldn't distort history either. Get over yourself.
