can anybody tell me, if the instrument at 7:01 and 7:05 is a shofar or a serpent? need to know it, because I want to use that instrument in my next film score :)
BMI (of which Jerry was a member) used to have a film showing Goldsmith recording this score. It was difficult for the musicians and he got aggravated at several points. Great stuff. Wish that would show up here.
@oceantracks Apparently that footage was part of (or at least included in) a documentary called The Score. I've wanted to see it for YEARS! I read somewhere that it (or bits of it) was included as a Mephisto Waltz DVD extra at some point - not on the DVD version I have, alas! Can anyone help us find this footage!!!!!!?
It's always great to hear some new Goldsmith (at least new to me) especially when he's working that eerie, abstract, unsettling side of the street that he does so well. So thanks for digging this one up- it makes me wanna see the movie!
