They are used as police dogs in Germany and were bought back from near extintion bout hundred years back when they started to breed then again. I would go over to him and put a leash on him and give him a hug. Then bring him home. If I let him wounder away he would know that he was in charge and could do what ever he wanted. The tests would never end.  Great dogs but know its a very power and stubborn animal. One of the most difficult of dogs to own.

Our rottie saved me from a bear, and she was with her cubs. I was 12 and we were camping. The bear looked far worse then he did by the end of it. He barely had a scratch on him. If it werent for him, I don't think I'd be here today. It's crazy when they are put in a situation to protect their family, what they will do for you. Luckily he wasn't hurt, and we had him until he was 16. RIP Chief <3
