Thank you for sharing!!!! I only have VERY BASIC sewing skills lol...I think I can handle this!! :) Bought my fabric today (and its super cute!) and I am anxious to try as I too wish to cover as I nurse....but I do NOT wish to pay the $40 price tag!! Thanks again!
Thank you so much for posting! This was a fantastic tutorial-- very easy to follow, and I loved that you not only showed us what to do, but explained what you were doing. It made everything a lot easier to understand, and I can't wait to make one.
Great video, so helpful having the text and the sped-up sewing sequences. I have a bought one to compare it to and, now that I've finished making this, can say that it is every bit as nice. Thanks!
My name is Jenny. I am 16 years old I have dark blonde hair .NOW THAT YOU STARTED READING YOU MAY NOT STOP!! Was murdered July 14th with my fathers shot gun and butchers knife. If u don't post this to 20 other pages I will come to if house in the middle of the night and kill u with my fathers shotgun and butchers knife. You have 5 hours to complete this task, don't believe, mar....ia.......... Mars...
@wingsofthehopeless You could make it without the boning, but I find that it is REALLY helpful when trying to get my baby to latch on properly. It creates a little window so that you can see your little one (while no one else can, unless they are hovering right above you). I can roll up the cover just fine and fit it in the diaper bag just fine.
It was sooo helpful to have the text, because I paused, went back and watched parts over and over again. Came out great! I'm ready for that baby shower tomorrow, and she'll have an original! :) Thanks so much!
@onelove4408 - I'm a beginner, so don't know too much about boning either, but when I went to the fabric store I got some advice from an employee there. I think you'd probably be better off going into a store and looking at it before you buy it to see if it would work for you.
@dkmail123 Thanks so much! This was my first successful sewing project, so I figured if I can do it, anyone could do it! Thanks again for your comment.
Oh! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I gave mine away and wanted to make one for my girlfriend. You just saved me $40! I also appreciate how quick you vid is, I've got 3 kids so watching this while sewing is going to be much easier than trying to figure out how to make the pattern on my own. Cheers and Congrats on the baby!
@1Cineen I am so glad to see people benefiting from this video! It was a weekend project (both the covers and the video) and I am glad it's helping people out :)
Thank you so much for posting this! I'm learning how to sew and want to make a few of these for my friends. This video will help a lot. Another nice project is the 2in1 carseat canopy & playmat. They are really easy to make and very practical. Good luck with your baby!
You're crafty! What a great gift idea. My nursing days are over but these would be such a nice hand made gift. Cool that you can sew. It seems like sewing is a dying art.
cover! I love them because they are light weight so good to swaddle a baby in when it's warm and they are huge. I can still swaddle my baby and she is almost 7 months old. My new favorite baby product.
These are super cute! You did a fantastic job :) Did you breastfeed your first? I have a hotter hider and I really like it..however I feel nervous that someone will walk past me and look down and see all my stuff. So I didn't use it with this baby until pretty recently because she is pulling the blanket off now. Rascally baby!
Have you heard of Aden + Anais blankets? I'm sure there are other brands also..but I LOVE them!! They are light weight muslin and they are perfect for a nursing ..
@jullpete Thanks Jullee! I did breastfeed my son for a while, but I had surgery 2 weeks after he was born to get my gallbladder removed and that kind of messed up my supply. I had to supplement him with formula and eventually I had to stop nursing :( I am hoping to be more successful this time around though!
I'm new to breastfeeding (my new little guy was born almost 2 weeks ago!). I had won a nursing cover and I love it! Haven't nursed in public yet, but I have used it at my parents'. If I ever want an extra or 2 I'll know how to make them now. Thanks for posting this!

Is the boning 100% necessary? Would it still fit into a diaper bag fine? (first time mommy here! I don't know anything!)
