my question is are you talking about full size m16 or a m4?coz the front sight is the same size but the sight radius is diferent coz the front sight of the m16 fullsize will look smaller and the m4 front sight will look larger and thicker.
@vodzdong There will be a difference using the M16 vs the M4. Not only due to the sight radius difference (14.5in vs 19.75in) but also because of trajectory. A shorter barrel gives the M4 a 210fps slower muzzle velocity. More correction will be required for further distances. However, because range estimation using the FSP is an estimate (estimation precision can be improved with experience and practice) the variability introduced by differing sight radii is not usually compensated for.
This is my last question. I just bought a new centerpoint 4-16x40 scope. The mildly reticule has 6 mildots instead of four. Do I use the same formula to read and find the distance to target. Jeremiah
@sunshyne0827 Same formula, you just have more mildots to work with. If you still have the instructions that came with your scope, check them out. I couldnt find them online.
Excellent video Sir. Recently I shot a Sako TRG .308 with a Schmidt & Bender scope (non military purposes, I am a recreational shooter), it had the same reticle. I wondered what those lines were for, I figured it had something to do with range estimation, but didn't know how to use them, now I do. Thanks!

Recruiting special forces ranger with no deployment patch. Interesting story, I would think?

@dklee37 Presidents Hundred & Ranger, not Special Forces. SFC Praslick is the USAMU Service Rifle coach.
