@peymaania I guess we disagree. This piece isn't ground-breaking or astounding, but it's an incredibly refined and expressive setting for this psalm. It was written under the patronage of Cardinal Ottoboni, a supporter of music and literature, the last cardinal of the Roman Church who lived like a prince and statesman in the mold of the Renaissance- and Baroque-era cardinals.
@peymaania Notice, for example, how in the aria Virgam virtutis tuae the melodies of the soprano and the violins imitate trumpet-like parts to express the military sense of the words.
I have been listening to this recording for 15 years.
