Dude, the first thing you did wrong was park your car where you should not have. Then the next thing you did wrong was not pay those tickets. That is why you had problems getting plates. Sure. I get all of that, but the system failed. Are you seriously going to take the position that our governments (local, state or federal) are efficient? I arrived at the DMV with EVERYTHING I needed to take care of business that day. They switched the registration and gave me no plates. It would have been appropriate for them to say "Hey. You have an unpaid ticket that you can't pay here. Go take care of that and come back." I took care of the old ticket that same week.

I agree. The police suck here in Milwaukee and I'm not even black. I've had bad experiences with cops, actually it was one asshole cop, so I understand where you're coming from. Dude, the first thing you did wrong was park your car where you should not have. Then the next thing you did wrong was not pay those tickets. That is why you had problems getting plates. Sure. I get all of that, but the system failed. Are you seriously going to take the position that our governments (local, state or federal) are efficient? I arrived at the DMV with EVERYTHING I needed to take care of business that day. They switched the registration and gave me no plates. It would have been appropriate for them to say "Hey. You have an unpaid ticket that you can't pay here. Go take care of that and come back." I took care of the old ticket that same week.
