  • 50 cent is better

  • @kwisi

  • KIDZ BOP XASTHUR!

    Smash hit single, ROOOAAAHHHH!

    C'mon kids sing along--- :)

  • Xasthur's best song

  • Impaled nazarene norz norz norz

  • This reminds me of real old school horror films for some reason

  • I'm not hearing any of the lyrics listed LMAO

  • I'm not a big fan of Xasthur - altough I respect Malefic as a musician. But this particular song gives me the chills. It's a pure masterpiece, which sends me into a trance-like depressed state of mind.

  • eww disgusting, earrape

  • Cool band, cool song. Thank for uploading!

  • Thanks for the mix Amaelwen. Badass. I'm writing a part of my novel where the main character's father is dying of plague- who else to turn to but Xasthur for atmosphere?

  • One of my all time favorites from Xasthur! Hail Malific!

  • If the guy didnt dress up like a clown this would be much better.

  • @deluv clown =/= black metal dude

    u stupid bro.

  • To all emo kids:

Don't most Xasthur albums say "'Curses to' or 'Fuck you...' you know who you are," or something like that?

Try being homeless, alone on cold winter nights, try walking 50+ miles for a dream you were willing to give every ounce of yourself for, to only find that it's gone, to find out that there is no light in the world, but denial is as bright as the sun...

To each his own, but in all honesty Xasthur has helped me come to peace with the grim realities of my life, and my past.

  • Every other week or so I come to my computer to write an apology letter for blowing my brains out. And somehow I always end up here, on this page, listening to this song... just to see another night.

  • @Kakodaimonoz Just end your misery.

  • An apt acknowledgement of our occasional/seasonal disparity and realignment with this most intent, incomplete and ever transforming artifice.

  • This is the kind of stuff I'm looking for.

  • this is really soothing...completely braingasmic!!..XASTHUR \m/

  • When does the music start?

  • I love Xasthur, such a shame that Malefic closed the doors on Xasthur.

    Xasthur will always be remembered!

  • It feels good to bring out the emotions we try to hide, and Xasthur brings them out of me so well.

  • Spiritual? lol... about as spiritual as shooting heroin. Xasthur does kick serious ass though.

  • My whole world is about to collapse into itself, and that song is the perfect fucking soundtrack for it.

  • I smell drum machine...

    Good song though O:

  • Omg I am loving this.

  • This is no fucking EMO MUSIC!!!

THIS IS BLACK FUCKING METAL !!

    HAIL

  • @godkillshot Stop making black metal look stupid. I'm pretty sure weirdies like you are the main reason I never liked black metal for the longest time.

  • dont understand Depressive Blackmetal...Blackmetal stands for Superior , Strength , Honor and Primevil

Depressive is more weakness then all other...but hey , the Song sounds good :)

careful , Emos may cut now

  • @chaos666chaos

Actually i think this is considered more depressive black metal because of the atmosphere, i agree with you but if you read some of xasthurs lyrics some are very satanic.

  • @chaos666chaos no- depression is the state of truly understanding reality :). and learn english please

  • @YourRoadToHell english ? is this the nice language with the failure in it ? i wrote about the music if you need to argument on a language , maybe risk a look at Wiktionary :)

  • @YourRoadToHell

Funny you attack some one for having bad English when your grammar sucks :)

  • @ApocalypticCarnage13 please explain- how does my grammar suck?

  • @YourRoadToHell

Used and to start a sentence, no capital letter and the begining of a sentance, no period at the end of a sentance. Derp derp derp

  • @ApocalypticCarnage13 that made no sense whatsoever.

  • @ApocalypticCarnage13 Sentence* Beginning*

  • @ApocalypticCarnage13 Totally true man!

  • His music unveils everything that we strive to hide inside of us. He allows to see it all from aside and become mezmerized by depression. This really makes us feel better because we finally see the truth about ourselves and our sufferings.

  • see, Xasthur kicks ass, but there are too many fans here that are just emo kids who listen to better music (ie. baww "my suburban middle-upperclass life is horrible!")

  • why do people whine so much on xasthur videos? no one here gives a shit about you. you're nothing but a fucking screen name. don't you ever go outside? it's nice out there. trees and shit like that. i'm gonna go for a walk in the park with subliminal on the pod and it's gonna be marvelous.

  • @whoreofmaldoror

You know, you just made a thousand people happy. You're right: stop gathering fat, instead get outside for an hour and run your ass off like a chainsaw murdered would chase you. Then when you get back home, you feel: "Oh, that actually felt good. Damn, why haven't I done it before?"

Damn lazy shit-eater trolls who pollute this internet.

  • i got this on me ipod, "screaming" you can say that again :) xasthur's awsome

  • This is flawless..

  • Wow I just happened to find Malefic's address on Google Maps and decided to pay a visit. He signed all my stuff and even gave me a free vinyl. Address is listed as 302 N. Stoneman Ave, Alhambra, CA 91801.

  • Black Metal is the most introverted/individualistic musick in the world. It comes straight from the ghastly depths of the heart.

  • @MrWormlock but then its extroverted, because you are turning your inner self outwards through the music

  • @MrWormlock

used to be, nowadays it's just another scene for cunts

  • I'm generally an industrial/EBM/Cyber fan, but i really love this kind of music as well.. It's atmosphere is just amazing, and it delivers something cyber music just can't do.

  • @Kojiamii Hey me too..I love EBM but I also love every kind of metal especially black metal

  • During my rough times in life , this music healed my energies, and hepled me embrace and then surpass the dreadfull, gray negativity of those times... Back then people thought i was listening to it to be even more depressed , but they did not understand that in this music i found compassion most of them never gave me or understood... Amazing music it is...

  • very good depressive arts

  • Amazing song

  • This music really makes my horrible fucking miserable life much better. Its crazy how depressive black metal actually makes me happy

  • @rak000

you should check out the new woods of desolation album called "torn beyond reason"

great depressive black metal and it always makes me happy when life goes to shit

  • @rak000 So true. I think it's a shared feeling thing.

  • @rak000 It works that way for me too my friend. \,,/

  • @rak000 thats EXACTLY what i thought hearing the first time the band forgotten tomb, than i listened this and it was the same..it´s..just..you can describe this kind of black metal in 3 letters. A R T !!

  • @rak000 Finally! Someone understands it. It makes me happy too - Even though it's depressing.

  • @rak000 It certainly makes me fuckin' happy, hee...

  • some of the main things i tell people that dont like black metal: its expressing true internal termoil and hatred. its an aquired taste, the logos are the most artistic and creative from any genre.

  • @daltonplaysthesax not to mention mostly unreadable... and black metal music videos tend so tacky and horrible I'm thankfull they are far and far between. Not to mention the amount of idiots in the 'scene'...

That aside, the genre and its subgenres produced a motherload of extremely brilliant and deep music, so it hardly matters. It's the genre that got me into music and one I keep returning to on a regular basis. Great stuff.

  • anyone know where i can get this album?

  • amazing lyrics

  • what an atmosphere !!!!!

    Amazing darkness !!!

    You got to die.....

  • Comment removed

  • Favorite song off the album.

  • I am not the biggest fan of Xasthur, but this song is most probably his best.

  • Drag me into the pits

  • ALL HAIL MALEFIC !

  • Seems like a direct descendent of 'Jesus Tod' and the like. Really beautiful.

  • Reminds me of Nortt but this might be more to my taste

  • Official Xasthur "Walker Of Dissonant Worlds" video posted here

    youtube.com/watch?v=kU0pOmzj70 o

  • Official Xasthur vid here

  • Is Malefics vox inhales or exhales?

  • @Wrath6909 both at the same time

  • @cityslaysall - How is that remotely possible? lol I think sometimes it's inhales, sometimes exhales.. usually though, they sound like inhales. Listen closely..

  • @Wrath6909 I was kidding dude, haha, im not sure, i know he uses certain device thingies that i know nothing about to give an effect to the vocals. So, it may all be exhales, who knows.

  • @Jackaloons in black metal the equipment and microphones are somewhat poor, so the harsh screams are usually a direct result of the pressure overload of a mic- it gives it that distorted sound

  • @emperorofthenorth5 even if Malefic's equipment was a bit off base it still gives it a beautiful sound. It's a very unique voice style. I think it's all inhales to answer jackaloons tho...notice how the words aren't totally pronounced all the way...especially the 's' syllables. It's done masterfully tho...by far my fav Xasthur song

  • muy buena cancion me hace recordar q somos fuertes un saludo de su amigo shaydth (edgar) desde ameca jalisco mexico

  • i cant even describe how black metal feels

theres some music that gives me an overwhelming sense of power, some makes me happy or sad but nothing is like black metal, its the most spiritual sound in the world

  • @CradleOfBodom17 Yeah, there's something spiritual and transcendental in black metal, you are unable to put it into words. Pure art I think.

  • @CradleOfBodom17 you've said one of the beautiful thing i have ever heard. thank you for support Black Metal !

  • @CradleOfBodom17 i was feeling hella down on myself the last few weeks, then i discovered this band and no joke, i feel so good. relaxed, and calm. been listening to NOTHING but xasthur, and i love it!

  • I listened to this song when I was rolling on XTC and let me tell you the vibes the song gives and the bass trembles in your ear giving a perfekt relaxation and tranquility.. Ahh.. this song just puts me asleep and makes everything feel beautiful..

  • Thi is fucking great! exellent!

  • Black metal are from Norway but it dont hafto be made in Norway.

lots of great BM from all around the world :)

    Great song !!!

  • Have been going on an Xasthur binge since i heard the news that Malefic called it quits. All my Xasthur disks have been getting excessive spins, and since im not near my stereo Ive just been listening to even more Xasthur on youtube. Words cant describe what this project means to me and Malefic has saved the best for last. Portal Of Sorrow is incredible. Great fucking song, great fucking album, great fucking band. Nuff said.

  • @blackmetalblunt i just only found out today that Malefic is ending Xasthur, i too am beginning a Xasthur binge frenzy, been listening to my Xasthur CDs all day and plan to purchase all the CDs in the discography that i dont yet own

  • This sax inside at the end of song is amazing. Did someone know something about BM bands use sax? Effect is very well.

  • @MrBiesCzad ihsahn uses the sax a lot on his solo albums, its kinda insane though. it adds a scary vibe to the songs.

  • awesome song!

you all should check out the song by necron, obscure divinity. they are from america too

  • Wow, who knew Americans can actually make more decent black metal! This is actually really good! This is both really depressing and really relaxing. If a song can make you feel 2 opposite emotions at once, it might be damn good song!

  • @xxxhentaikingxxx I agree, i listen to this wolves in the throne room garbage and its like wtf it's so "average". Doesn't help that they are hippies in black metal lol. Sunn isn't bad but that's drone metal so haha. Only good black metal not made in Scandinavia must be depressing/ambient. Regular BM doesn't seem to work in places like the US and England

  • @HateCrewDeathMartyr - Yeah, I guess those Norwegians just have a dark mentality in their lives : )

    It's probably the climate XD

  • @Fan666Maiden lol, Norway is pretty GRIM :)

  • @HateCrewDeathMartyr - Yeah, that's pretty much what I meant : )

  • @Fan666Maiden >_> i was agreeing with you

  • @HateCrewDeathMartyr - Right, sorry I understood you wrong. My bad!

  • @Fan666Maiden haha, no problem man

  • amazing

  • such relaxing song!

I'll add this to my sleeping playlist

  • Xasthur is the only musician to ever bring tears to my eyes

  • My favourite among Malefic's newer works. 5 stars for uploading!

  • i cant even begin to explain how fucking badass this song is

  • MALEFIC IS GOD

  • and the tune throughout the song is wonderful

  • the vocals are just super awesome

  • of course not you fucking stupid imbecile

  • best song of all time cant get better, so beautiful i feel like jerking off to the sound

  • my favorite song

  • Absolutely adore this song!!! We just bought a house off in the woods and it takes about 30 mins drive to get there, and just a couple of days ago; it was snowing, the trees looked wicked like black skeletons reaching up,the sky was gray and this song was playing...it was a wow moment!

  • You lucky duck, you!

  • fav'd

  • Never, ever get tired of ALL this song and Malefic's work in general but argghhhh! 2:01 - 2:22 is so good. I own every Xasthur records. Can't wait for the new 'demo 2005' record to be released.

  • I never realized Xasthur was so great until i heard this track, now im hooked

  • this song is BAMF

    hailz

  • Start listening with the volume low and you will find yourself turning it up more and more

  • @dustinwr Just did. Then read your comment. Smiled a tad.

  • wow, i put this vid on and i layed down for a sec and now im just waking up

its like an amazing ambient black metal lullabye

  • @Toxikfan4eva same to me

  • @Toxikfan4eva well said

  • One of the best X. song, imo. And my favorite.

  • Its so simple musically, yet so completely overpowering...i love it best song ever

  • most emotionally powerful music is technically and musically simple

  • this particular master piece of beauty is probably Malefic's favorite too due to the fact that when he was asked in an interview, he said " to violate the oblivious is the only album im totally satisfied with" and one can conclude due to the beauty of this little baby

    ave satanas \m/

  • Fucking amazing, thanks.

  • I want to give a lot of praise and stuff, but I can't seem to hold a coherent thought when I listen to Xasthur.

  • I rofl'd. This stuff is fantastic, aquired taste for sure.

  • I didn't mean that in a bad way. I like Xasthur.

  • soundtrack to suicide.

  • Being primarily a thrash/death metalhead, I used to consider Xasthur to be complete shit in terms of production and composition. However, it is because of this AMERICAN (\m/) that I truly understand what black metal is all about - the atmosphere!

An amazing piece of music for those who have aquired the taste.

  • Damn right, i used to listen to nothin but death or thrash too but xasthur has really opened my mind to more music, xasthur is ubelievably amazing, this is my fav song by him, i love every second of it

  • @Demonickult - Yeah, the production quality is usually quite bad with black metal, it's not just specific for Xasthur. Imho, though, it actually adds something to the whole atmosphere. Originally, it was because most BM bands didn't have a big budget, but it actually became kind of a trademark for the genre.

  • @Demonickult Yeah Xasthur takes a few listens.

  • Comment removed

  • @Demonickult Yup same here :) You have to get the atmosphere in order to like black metal.

  • @xkhuongdox Yep, atmosphere is everything, and the best example of that is Burzum.

  • @Demonickult sooooo true....huge respect for you man....everyone should have your open mindedness!!!

  • @Demonickult Damn straight. Agree with everything you said. I love setting this type of atmosphere (preferably darker though) for when I'm about to play a horror game/movie. Rather than coming back from the bowling alley and jumping right into it. It makes a difference!

  • @Demonickult u said it,for those who have acquired the taste.its hard to get it for many people out there

  • By far the best song I've heard in fucking ages. Holy fuck.

  • I´m speechless. It´s unbelievably beautiful.

  • Comment removed

  • one of the best songs EVER. probably the best song of To Violate The Oblivious together with Walker Of Dissonant Worlds

  • Hell yeah. This song is fucking excellent. One of the best i've ever heard.

  • impressive

  • since i``ve listen this song for first time i`d really like it! fucking sick, grim, cold black metal, xasthur is one of the few bands that can create this atmosphere plenty of agony and sorrow! hail xasthur!

  • Abysmal PAIN...

  • paralyzing.
