..this is a song from Gary Thomas, i saw him some jears ago in frankfurt Germany im Sinkasten , l ike his music and how he play his sax (sax + muscel`s) very mutch but this staccato stile i hear first from steve coleman !!!!! i´m right ?
I know Gary recorded with and collaborated with Coleman and other "M-base" associated musicians, I think his tenor tone and attack have a lot more resemblance to tenor man Billy Harper (frecorded with Thad Jones/Mel Lewis, Art Blakey and as a bandleader in his own right).
what a guitar sound, part of Miles' sore-throat horn is there

IMO, the best of John McLaughlin's ensembles since the original Mahavishnu Orchestra. Intense and creative.
