  • what is this music in the background called

  • @finalfrontier001 in this video I used maybe 6 or 7 differnt versions of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic". I dont recall exactly what version this was, but if you look at part seven it is listed in the cerdits at the end.

  • It will be very interesting when the War for English Independence, against the United States of Europe, erupts. The "European Civil War" will be far more bloody and brutal than anything seen in the former Jugoslavia ........

  • Robert E. Lee is one of histories greatest generals. No wonder it took the north almost 6 years to defeat the southern states.

  • @mountainstandardtime Yes it is true Lee was a very good General. But the reason why it took the North so long to defeat the South was a bit more complicated than that.

  • @mountainstandardtime As great as General Robert E Lee was as a commander I'd have to say he didnt have the best Army in the war, in my opinion that title goes to the Army of the Potomac. How many times was it defeated and forced to go back to Washington and how many times did it regroup and start a new campaign in Virginia all over again, Over the course of 5 years under how many inept different commanders was it able to perform brilliantly in the field

  • @markmason1000 You deride Lee's army?! YANKEE SOLDIERS DIDN'T! The well fed, well armed, well uniformed Army of the Potomac, wearing new shoes was routed repeatedly for 2 1/2 years by a MUCH smaller force using their personal horses, wearing mostly their personal clothes, having no shoes when the ones they had on wore out, as replacements were rare, using generally inferior ammo and doing in on a starvation diet. You know NOTHING about the Civil War or the battles. Just look at the stats, child

  • Im not deriding Lee's Army . Im saying the defeats were not the cause of the Union soldiers they were from inept leadership and missed oppritunities. If we had more commanders like General Reynolds, Hancock and Sheridan the rebellion would have been over in months. Consider this do you realize how much bravery it takes to charge a defensive position like Mayre's heights over and over again? That kind of bravery was very common in the Army of the Potomac

  • @markmason1000 Yes, I do have an idea of the type of bravery required to charge a defensive position like Marye's Heights and am amazed. Remember Pickett's Charge? I admire the courage of brave soldiers on BOTH sides but the Confederats earned their reputation. They showed shocking bravery consistantly, to the end. They fought with no fresh troops, almost no replacement clothing while on near starvation diets. It was the kind of army generals dream of and I don't mean to insult Federal soldiers.

  • @ManicStreetStevO The federal gov't we see today is a far stretch of what the founders had in mind when writing the constitution. I don't think they intended for the federal gov't to have powers to decide, say socialized health care for instance. Those types of issues were meant to be decided by states.

  • @ManicStreetStevO Before the civil war, the only power that the federal government had was explicity stated in the constitution. All other matters of government were left up to the states to decide. After the war, the federal government broadened thier scope of power over the states.

  • Finally the true motivation of the war finally realized. It was NOT for the freedom of the slaves, but rather for the federal government to have control of the states!

  • At last, an honest assessment of Lincoln's motivations. Very nice!

  • Brilliant Series Thank You.

  • awsome! What a horris war.

  • another great piece, very informative.
