  • I would also like to show you what I have found in that area. Plz PM me if you are still into the hunt :) Im planing another trip very soon

  • Try a portable dam to get flow correct and to raise the end of the sluice. Use an approx 1 to 2 ft high and 2 ft wide piece of plywood, cut a slot for the sluice box to fit into. Tack silt fence to bottom and sides of the plywood. In the creek build a small dam or use large rocks on the down stream side to hold back your dam. with the silt fence spread across the creek, backing it with sand and boulders, and shovel sand on bottom of silt fence to keep water from going under silt fence.

  • @chestateegold

    Yes, I just need to get in with a good group of prospectors and buy them some beers. ;)

    @pogobull

    I love the bazooka gold trap! Hands down the best sluice I've ever used. Depending upon the water flow, me and my wife can feed it at the same time and it can still take more. I'm posting a video soon.

  • ive panned / sluiced in that area many times, however it has been worked over many times and you will probably only find tiny amounts. the gold is there, but the spots are held by tight lipped prospectors, and you just need to do some phone calling and hunting around to find it.

  • hey . another great vid.. just ordered a bazooka gold sluice .prospecter model. looking forward to givin it a go any sluiceing that dos'nt involve classifying is a good day in the bush.

  • Great vid Mike! Im heading to that area this week. If I go get some sand from that spot by the boiled peanut guy can i get introuble? I also want to take some home to pan

  • @ryanhenderson81

    Sorry for the late reply! I'm not sure. I looked up the Tax records and that whole area of river is owned by a private individual. While I was there, I did see several people come and take dirt away in 5 gallon pails. I'm thinking of contacting the wner of the property and asking his permission to prospect there.

  • @GoldHunterMike Another late reply.. :P I have done some research on the Chestatte. Some Local county directors said that if its not privately owned that it belongs to Army Corps of Engineers. Also that they do not allow any Panning/gold Prospecting. Is this a public area or what ? I did end up going up there and getting some dirt since my last comment, I want to get more. Leme know if you have found, anything else on this spot? Also PM me if you know some other nice spots in GA. Thx

  • dig deeper mike. Try the Yahoola creek

  • @bigjimbob87, Thanks! I will! Just wish I could find a place to do it. The Weekend Gold Miners have a property, but I think it would take a 4wheel drive vehicle to get into it, like the rest of their properties.

  • @GoldHunterMike Lots of gold in them hills that the cowboys and indians left. I park at 52 and the Yahoola on the right side. Walk ten minutes and your across from the WEGM. lots of gold mines and gold veins .this area was mined for nearly 35 years. Good area there at the Chesatee.
