  • @inoviamaster It will help...keep working out, I would suggest just using Body mechanics to exercise..IE push ups normal calisthenics. The upper side of 17 is when you want to start hitting the weights hard. Your testosterone will be almost at full output and you'll build muscle pretty fast. If you use weights now stick to the lighter side and do more reps per set. This will prepare your tendons and smaller muscle fibers for the big time. No Junk food no processed foods.

    I find it very hard to train on my abs...sometimes I dont even feel the muscle working unlike when i train on my biceps or chest. And i feel like giving up when i can't feel the abs muscle working...or sometimes i would feel pain in my back instead of my abs when working on abs.

    Could you advise me on that ?

  • Oh hey! Have you considered intellectus diet (search on google for intellectus424dietcom)? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my friend lost a ton of weight with it.

  • i just wanna add you don't Have to put your hands out like that, if you don't have a couch or anything heavy just simply put them under your ass when you're laying down. i like to use a sit up bench and hold the part that is for your legs and lift my legs up personally

  • hey lui I also do leg raises for the lower abs but I put a dumbbell in between my leg . You should try it :) . It makes the exerise a LOT harder. thanks for the great videos , just wanted to give you that little tip on training the lower abs

  • Hello Lui, I wondered, this is an exercises we do a lot between martial art training to reinforce the abs, but, why keeping the reps so low? What is the difference between making 6 or 8 series of 20, or 4 series of 50 - 60?

  • I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure the leg raises workout your hip flexors more than your abs. Sure your abs are working staticly but there's no contraction/extraction unless you raise your hips off the floor.

    And also, there are no such things as upper or lower abs. Rectus abdominis is one single muscle and you can't workout different parts of it.

  • @ObliquusExternus You are right, but you emphasize the tention on that particular area of the abs (the lower abs in this case). Crunches got me the first 4 packs! and i'm still struggling for the 6th and 8th! i have a moderate body fat since i'm 17 so i can't go below 13%!

  • Hehe i always used to do this :) I even got some strap on weights to go on your ankle while your doing them :) Works really well :P

  • very nice exercise,I use to lift my legs in that way when I warm up,cool so keeping a weight in both hands like that is working more the abs,who knows if it works for everybody,hope that it will work for me also

    I started for 2 weeks to do the traditional abs exercises in a way which works quite good for me,I stay with my legs sticked to a small piece of wood on the floor with my heels sticked of that wood

  • The whole lower abs thing is a myth. A crunch works your abs enough.

  • @DogBoi1692 Exactly. Just because you only feel the crunch at the top, it doesn't mean the entire rectus abdominis wasn't engaged because there's only one insertion at the pubis. Not only that but the leg raises performed as seen here are an isometric contraction exercise for the abs and are using the hip flexors as the prime movers.

  • @DogBoi1692 You will never gain mass on your whole 8-pack. Sure most people even don't want it becasue they have enough problems to burn the fat in that regions. When you compete with other bodybuilders you will change your mind rather quick. As an average Joe you might never get the use of the lower ab excercises.
