Also, when you say that a rape victim is not to be punished, I have heard of a Sunni hadith that prohibits that, but many people take the fact that the woman was raped as proof that she has had sex before marriage, and in the qur'an it says that both who engage in premarital sex must be flogged a hundred times because it is a great sin. This is why they punish the woman when she has been raped, and they don't care about the fact that she did not want it. This is what Islam teaches.

If it's due to "ignorance" of Islam, there must be a gross inefficiency with Islamic education that goes unchecked. these practices are done by muslims. and much of it is actually considered legal within those nations. so it's muslims doing it, and muslims approving of it by making it legal.

@balkanmix, even Islam gives women the right to take divorce if there is legal shortcoming in husband then she can divorce him & marry again the man of her desire but you cannot have relation with another man when you are still in wedlock.Or you cannot have boyfriend/girlfriend in Islam, if you like someone then marry & live a legal life, relationship with opposite sex outside marriage is illegal in Islam,weather your are adult,teen or child it is not permitted.or else face punishment.

They are not PROUD of this crime, they do not think they have the RIGHT to kill their partner because they somehow "wronged" them by disagreeing with them, or even just TALKING to another man. Honor killing is a crime in Islam and the penalty is death. Its a conspiracy to present a dark side of the truth. Islam is a way of life aka principles of conduct set by the creator Allah (SWT). A peaceful way of life. The sharia law is also twisted for political benefits. Any killer whether in the name of honor or whatever is punishable by death or severe punishment.
