  • muy buena cancion

  • 2:40 i thought the words of the prophets were written on the Studio wall... concert hall

  • these lyrics... i will never forget them

  • I'm 18, and grew up listening to Simon and Garfunkel; Sound of Silence always has been and always will be my favorite song.Compare the insightful lyrics with most of the crap that spews out of today's speakers, and it'll make you want to fling yourself off a bridge in a fit of artistic despair.

  • Χωρίς λόγια...

  • My beautif father is 73 today and I am listening to the awsome music from his lod album collectsion!!!!

  • I Love my dad so much! it is 73 today and he had albums of music that I grew up with! This one included. I'm doing a tribute to him from some or these albums and thanking him for the git of music today! Love him so much!! What a cool guy!

  • Gracias por la descripcion de esta hermosa poesia.

    Buen dia :-)

  • Ieri sera. Neve e freddo. In viaggio verso la piscina. Riscaldamento della Panda a palla. Virgin Radio. E questa canzone. Poesia

  • watchmen!!!

  • hyjnore e pa arritshme

  • What do you think this song is about? From what I've read, it's about a lack of communication in our society. I always thought it was about depression lol. When ever I get depressed and feel like snuffing it, "hello darkness my old friend, I've come to talk with you again" goes through my mind.

  • @TheAverageCanadian I always thought about the end of society through a nuclear holocaust and this survivor is reminiscing about the times before.

  • Ouch Charlie you and Simon bite me

  • @MrBoohead1987 Charlie???

  • I like this song because it's about silence. I never heard the music but I like the lyrics that come up sometimes. There pretty. I couldn't read until I was 15. I can really relate to the sounds of silence. I was born deaf. I can never tell if I accidently fart in public if it were loud or silent and I have chronic farts from my chrones. Damnit. Nice lyrics though..

  • @MrBoohead1987 troll much?

and way to fail at deciphering the real meaning of the song!

  • There wasn't all nice bright summer days after I like many other youths in 65 went to California. In two weeks I met my wife, she was arrested for prostitution. She said she liked it. 47 years later and I still haves to pay for her service.

  • what kinda genre is dis song like is it jazz or classic or blues what the fuck is it

  • @fantastic097 its more of an old school rock

  • @NTGforME thanks brobro

  • @fantastic097 - sounds like Folk Music to me.

... kinda along the lines of Bob Dylan... Joan Baez... Peter, Paul & Mary.... etc.

  • ok, who sings the high voice? i must know

  • @ma41094 Art Garfunkel

  • AWESOME!!

  • This song is way to short!

  • If only people could really understand the meaning of this song ... it isn't just beautiful, it's also very important for our future. There is a reason why this song was written just after the death of Kennedy. The thruth is out, the lies are old by now, a lot of people knows what to do, but the majority are just '' hearing without listening ''.

  • Magnifique chanson !

Une des plus belles de cette période.

  • There's something about that song but i can't quite put my finger on it - tricks my nerves

  • I was listening to this when i was talking to my ex, i then noticed i threw away everything good we had together :(

  • First listened to this on the Watchmen.

Glad I did, some great song!

  • I love this, chills me right out :)

  • I saw this with the film the "Graduate" Learned to play it on harmonica/drums years ago

  • One of the greatest songs of all time!!

  • I'm sat here at 2am with a cigarette burning in the ashtray. Listening to this. Brings a whole new meaning to asking myself what the hell I'm doing with my life these days.

  • Wow cosmic, !

  • One of my all time favorites, love to sing along with it..

  • Saw Paul Simon on tour in the late 80s. Did this song on his own for the encore with nothing but an acoustic guitar and a single spotlight. Still gives me goosebumps when I think of it, even to this day.....

  • to była muzyka :) na zawsze zostanie w sercach

  • like grooooooovy man :)

  • im on shrooms right now, yall! :) peeeeaaaccceee

  • haha, Wilson did a pretty good job though!

  • I so much prefer this version to the "original one", released in 1964. Thumbs up.

  • Simon's performance of this song at the 9/11 memorial left me speechless. It was the best renditions of this song

  • falsehood of a liberal media, do i realy belive what i am saying. Do not bicker about the modern artist, but reconize the great one's. timless picess that speak to a generation.-gansters paradise, simon and garfunkel, Ect. so do not complain about the words of today, but comemorate the timless word of life.

  • its like this song was written for 9/11. Never Forget.

  • You guys don't get it, He was supposed to sing "Bridge", but played this song cause Islam fundamentalists see us as sinful and materialistic hence "Neon God". In the song, the people ignore a warning and continue their meaningless lives. The words of the Prophet are written on the subway walls, but nothing changes. It suggests that our national self-obsession brought this disaster upon us and that we have failed to heed the warning.

  • This song is so appropriate for yesterday.

    Never forget.

  • All day today this song kept playing in my head. I think it's rather fitting for 9/11. It's also cool that it was played at the 9/11 memorial today.

I was much too little to remember the day of 9/11/01 but now I'm old enough to know just how awful it was (and still is). My heart goes out to everyone affected by this catastrophe. And don't forget Flight 93!

  • @imagamerfreak i agree with you

  • 9/11, terrorist be warned, we will never forget

  • wow. i wish my generation liked this music! then i wouldnt be viewed as a musical wierdo, but screw it i love this music, i can love it even if im in middle school

  • The Graduate

  • @Imran500 i love that movie :)

  • Check out Nemo Shaw singing 'The Sound of Silence' - beautiful! Just out!

  • Moffat's inspiration for the Silence....

  • This song must touch so many peoples lives in all different ways.

The beauty of music and songs like this.

    God bless.

  • nice

  • lol Garfunkel. if haven't heard them before the name would probably turn you away.

  • Your crazy man...I like you, but your crazy.

  • This is crazy, i haven't heard oldies since i was about 13. i'm 21 now, i remember how much i loved these oldies. And most of these old songs hold a special meaning to me. This song, i remember, was playing the last time i saw my 4th grade best friend. I'm still looking for you buddy...i still am..hurry up and make a facebook damn it!! get with the program.. :,)

  • Definitely one of the most emotional songs ever written.

  • this song might be old butt its one of the best

  • Their harmonies are beautiful. Not because of the harmonies they chose, but because their voices blend so nicely.

  • here's to you miss robinson

  • i heard this song when i was 5 but after i moved from california i haven't heard this song since i saw Watchmen and i was remembered how great this song was

  • "I heard a joke once. Man goes to the doctor. Says he's feeling depressed and alone in a cruel world. Says what lies ahead is vague and uncertain. Doctor says, "Treatment is simple. The great clown Pagliacci is in town. Go see him. That will pick you up." Man bursts into tears. "But doctor," he says, "I am Pagliacci." Great joke. Everyone laughs. Roll on snare drum. Curtains."-Rorshach

  • @SHMEDLYBOB Watchmen sucked compared to the comic and well movies in general

  • <3

  • i think 3 ppl accidently hit the dislike button

  • @REAPERajg Nope i did it on purpose

  • this was still great the 5th time I heard it in the Graduate

  • lol "poeple"

dont mean to be a smartass or dickhead, but that's a funny misspelling in your description.

Excellent song, Thanks for the upload.

  • Slayer \m/

  • i love this song!!!

  • @lilgata105 I love this song too, as a matter of fact, this is my all times favorite song. Not just because of its beautiful tune, but its message that is speaking the truth in a very artistic clever way, especially saying, silence is like a cancer grow. Amos 5:12-13 and Proverbs 22:22-23.
