Why don't the Shias just invoke / call upon Allaah, alone in their DUAs/ SUPPLICATIONs?
HADEETH - The Prophet said: "Dua is worship". [SAHEEH (authentic) - Reported by Ahmad and the compilers of the Sunans).
So if DUA / SUPPLICATION is worship, then we can only supplicate to Allaah.
Therefore, when Shias go Najaf and Karbala and supplicate to Alee and Al-Husain, then they are directing an act of worship (in this case DUA) to other than Allaah - That is Shirk because it involves giving a share of one's worship to other than Allaah.

Shia shrines, like those in Najaf and Karbala, are places of Shia pilgrimages and it is at these places the Shias worship the dead by praying to / dua to the dead.
In Najaf - Shias invoke/ dua / supplicate to Alee, asking for his help and intercession.
In Karbala - Shias invoke Husain, asking for help and intercession.
But in Islaam; none has the right to be worshipped except Allaah - That means all supplications / invoking/ dua can only be sought from Allaah.
Examples of differences between Islaam and Shiasm:
ISLAAM; we love Alee (the 4th Khaliph) and say he was one of the best servants of Allaah and an example for us to follow. But Alee was only a human.
SHIASM; they exaggerate the status of Alee and worship Alee by supplicating/ dua to him. Shias also give Alee super-natural powers, which Alee did NOT have.
ISLAAM; we are NOT allowed to build mosques above graves.
SHIASM; Shias build mosques above the graves of their Imams.
The Shia have elevated their Imams to the level of "gods" of ancient times as occurs in one of the main Shia books, Al Kaafi. Some exaggerations are: that Imams know when they will die and die of their own choice! (p.258).That Imams have knowledge of the past and future and nothing is concealed from them! (p.260). That all of the earth belongs to the Imams! (p.407).
In Islaam (Sunnism); we love the familly of the Prophet and the Companions of the Prophet, but we only worship Allaah.
Shia narrations do not reach the level of authenticity of the Sunni Muslim scholars of hadeeth (narrations). Therefore, many of the Shia texts are in fact fabrications having no basis in truth at all.
Thus much of their religion is based upon lies.
In Sunni Islaam, hadeeth collection has a highly scientific approach.
But in Shiasm, due to their fabircated narrations and due to their faulty understanding of authentic texts, they have created vile lies about the Companions of our Prophet.
In previous posts I have explained why many Shias are upon Shirk because they worship their Imams by supplicating/ dua/ invoking them.

1430 years ago, prophet Mohammed came with Islam in Makkah (part of Saudi Arabia now) since that time, the arab peninsula was ruled by Muslim leaders (Othmans one of them), 100 years ago, King Abdulaziz established Saudi Arabia by help from AL SUBAH (THE KUWAITI ROYAL FAMILY) NOT BY Britain. Britain came to all the gulf countries expect Saudi Arabia.
There were 3 Saudi Kingdoms, the first was during the 1700's the 2nd was during the 1800's. The first Saudi kingdom ruled all of the Arabian peninsula including parts of jordan, iraq. And from their when the 3rd Saudi kingdom gained power because of oil, it pressured Britain to give back the gulf states (the UK was crumbling then), but Britain only accept to establish independent states. So Saudi arabia formed the GCC council instead of claiming those lands.

Probably I miss understood you when you mentioned those countries, Yes they were under the Ottoman empire. What I meant is part of what is known today as Jordan and Iraq was under the rule of the First Saudi Kingdom. Its in history books my friend, you can easily find sources.

Many Shias (not all) are Mushrikeen because they worship their Imams by supplicating/ dua to them and seeking their intercession in the SAME way the Mushirkeen of old used to do.
Let us supplicate to Allaah alone and ask Him for guidance.

The Shirk of the Mushrikeen of old and the Shias of today is the same, only the names have changed.

So if DUA / SUPPLICATION is worship, then we can only supplicate to Allaah.
Therefore, when Shias go Najaf and Karbala and supplicate to Alee and Al-Husain, then they are directing an act of worship (in this case DUA) to other than Allaah - That is Shirk because it involves giving a share of one's worship to other than Allaah.

But in the Shiism (mainly Ithna Ashariya - Twelvers), Shias have built mosques over the graves of their Imams where there is exaggeration of the pious and excessive veneration of the Imams.
This type of Shia devotion to their Imams is similar to Catholic Christians who venerate and worship Mary and their "saints". It is also similar to the Mushrikeen (polytheists / pagans) at the time of the Prophet.

Shia narrations do not reach the level of authenticity of the Sunni Muslim scholars of hadeeth (narrations). Therefore, many of the Shia texts are in fact fabrications having no basis in truth at all.
Thus much of their religion is based upon lies.
In Sunni Islaam, hadeeth collection has a highly scientific approach.
But in Shiasm, due to their fabircated narrations and due to their faulty understanding of authentic texts, they have created vile lies about the Companions of our Prophet.

In previous posts I have explained why many Shias are upon Shirk because they worship their Imams by supplicating/ dua/ invoking them.
But, Shias have other deviations too:
One significant belief that the Rafidah Shia (most Iranian, Lebanese and Gulf Shia) have is that they declare the majority of the Sahabah (Companions of The Prophet) to be unbelievers (kuffar)!
Shias also curse the Sahabah and insult them.
Shias have invented lies about the great Companions.

In Islaam we can only supplicate to Allaah because supplication is an act of worship.
Muslims supplicate as follows: "O Allaah help me" or "O Lord guide me" - These supplications/ duas are upon Tawheed (monotheism).
We have been warned against supplicating to other than Allaah as follows:
HADEETH - The Prophet said: "Whosoever dies whilst making du’aa (invocation, supplication) to others besides Allaah, will enter the HellFire." [Related by al-Bukhaaree (no. 4297), from Ibn Mas'ood]

Many Shias are Mushrikeen (polytheists/ those who associate partners with Allaah) because they give a share of their worship to their Imams.
But in Islaam; all acts of worship can only be to Allaah - The Lord of all that exists.
None has the right to be worshipped except Allaah.
That means all supplications/ duas can only be directed to Allaah, since dua is an act of worship.
Shias supplicate as follows: "O Alee help me" or "O Husain intercede for me" - These duas are acts of Shirk.

Many Shias differ from pure orthodox Sunni Islaam in that the Shia invoke/ dua/ supplicate to their Imams to seek help and intercession from them (even though they are dead and in their graves!)
These acts are classed as Shirk (polytheism) in Islaam and in fact take a person outside the fold of Islaam
Worshipping others besides Allaah is Shirk (associating partners with Allaah/ polytheism). Shirk expels from Islaam.
Dua/ supplication is an act of worship which can only be directed to Allaah

There are numerous types of Shias who vary in degree of deviation from the truth.
The main body of Shias in the Gulf, Iran and Lebanon are known as Ithna Ashariya (Twelvers), who believe in 12 Imams.
We know them as the Rafidah.
But there are other types of Shias too....
The worst of them are Kuffar (Unbelievers) and Mushrikeen (polytheists/ pagans) and the least of them are Ahlul-Bidah (People of religious innovations having no basis in Islaam).

There were 3 Saudi Kingdoms, the first was during the 1700's the 2nd was during the 1800's. The first Saudi kingdom ruled all of the Arabian peninsula including parts of jordan, iraq. And from their when the 3rd Saudi kingdom gained power because of oil, it pressured Britain to give back the gulf states (the UK was crumbling then), but Britain only accept to establish independent states. So Saudi arabia formed the GCC council instead of claiming those lands.

Probably I miss understood you when you mentioned those countries, Yes they were under the Ottoman empire. What I meant is part of what is known today as Jordan and Iraq was under the rule of the First Saudi Kingdom. Its in history books my friend, you can easily find sources.
